    Are those the stock grips? My buddy has a Ninja with aftermarket grips that cause the same problem. I had to trim them because they were rubbing on both ends causing it to not return.

    Just like other say make sure it's not the grips that are causing the issues. If you are going to flash your bike I would get the Flash-Tune.com interface. I have it for my 2008 R1 and love it.
