Starting to get pronounced clutch slip at higher speeds/revs on my 05. Adjusted clutch at motor and checked the worm gear and still happening. Likely need a new clutch but thought I'd ask for input:
- Anything else I should check before ordering up new OEM plates?
- Anything else I should replace while I'm in there? Washers and gaskets and stuff?
Note: I have about 2k miles on Rotella T6 now

Clutch cover gasket. That’s about it. I’d get a whole new clutch kit. Steele and fibers. Springs can probably be reused but I’d get those too. Depends on how long you’ve had the clutch.

Cool. Yeah, I’d like to replace it all if I’m going in there. Miles are uncertain - speedo was damaged when purchased but P.O. said 20-25k (which is not unlikely as the title had 17k just a few years back) and I’ve put 2k highly spirited street miles on. I do like to slip the clutch a lot and engine brake liberally.

On other bikes Ive owned when I was getting slippage at high rpms it was suggested to just get new springs if fibers and steels looked good. This worked for me but was on an old GS 850 and 1000 bike.
whole new clutch definitely would also do the trick though.

Think I’ll pop it out, measure springs and visually inspect fibers and steels, and have a look at the oil.
