Hello all, what site offers paint for bike plastics, and how much do I need to complete the job?![]()
how much do you want to spend?![]()

Price isn't a factor. It's just for trackdays, and I want to do it myself. Primer 1st, then topcoat.
I found my paint at Tractor Supply Co.. but I am fuckin' weird. Were I shopping for normal colors, I'd probably start at Lowes. Mostly because it is close.
2 cans did the 2-piece fiberglass set I have on my SV. I used about half a can of primer under the color coat.
You can go normal rattle can and get a good enough finish for a track day bike. If you're looking for an automotive finish and don't have a HVLP setup you can have auto paint mixed in aerosol cans at some auto parts stores. ColorRite will also do it and they just started offering a substantial discount to AMA members.

Google around for
EMPIRE GP I think
Other than that just get some saw horses and any car shop could paint it.
NOTE Tank must be finished with gas resistant ( I like Urethane)
The calculus of hate
It is not that I should win it is that you should lose
It is not that I succeed it is that you fail
It is not that I should live it is that you should die
I should note that my "2 cans" estimate does not include the tank. I did not paint mine; it's still ugly.
A lot of NAPA stores have a paint secrion and can mix any color you want. They also have a few huge books with swatches you can use to pick out what you want. For something cheaper advanced auto has some limited colors (black, red, blie, white, etc.) and clear in cans that is pretty cheap. This is for an HvLP setup. In a can I have heard good things about spraymax 2k.
I bought my paint from Kwik Auto Body Supplies in Medford. They are very knowledgeable and helped me figure out how much of everything I needed.
THnx for the replies folks.![]()
