I picked up a titled`02 XR650R last spring to convert over to SuMo. Never liked the dated looks of the XRR, so a facelift was in order.
Ugly Betty as she arrived.
We pick up some new prosthetic legs for Betty. CRF450X front end.
Betty goes under the knife! We start with a face-peel.
Betty's dome was ugly, so the search was on for a suitable replacement. After a long search, I was fortunate to procure a Monnier tank that is no longer made, These are very rare and give the old girl a modern look.
Betty will receive new feet. A set of Warp9 wheels in kit form.
Betty never looked good in red, so we shall break the norm and address this.

Betty's ass was sagging and droopy, so we graft a CRF rear fender onto her.
Engine was freshened up with 11-1 piston, and stage 1 cam to help her breathe a little better without losing the bottom end torque.
Betty gets her new shoes as well.
That's were Betty stands right now. The shock is out being revalved/sprung, and I will be caswell epoxy coating the inside of the tank tomorrow, so hopefully I will have paint on the tank by next weekend. I'm also working on the graphics right now to finish off Betty's new look.
