Well, I had zero expectations for this weekend. The goal was to survive (first ex round) and continue to progress. I did both, barely.
Rc4 Singles:
Got a horrendous start as usual, but thanks to some coaching by dan, I got around some suckas going into one. Preteen decided to go dirtbiking in 10, so I didn't have to try too hard there. Uneventful from there to the finish, new pb of 20.6something. (which I'm really stoked on...it's a dirtbike)
Rc8 ulsb:
I wanted to beat doc in this race sooooo bad. I now have to publicly thank him for not running me over too.
I managed to follow dans lead again and ended up in the front pack for the first lap. The second lap I kinda felt out what was going on (I've never ridden with any of these guys closely to date) I kept showing a wheel to somebody on a 696 with a black tank. I finally decided to get around him in 11, real tight to the curb. I got right up in there good, and when we exit and start to flip for 11a, he doesn't flip as hard as me, we bump, my front wheel disappears, and I end up on the ground. (landed on my hip). Well then I feel this bump on my lower leg, and as I come to a stop in the triangle of grass towards pit in, my bike comes and hits me in the back and stops too. I look, no bikes. Hop up, thumbs up, and praise Jesus, my bike is still running. I cruise down pit lane looking for someone to wave me in, no one does, so I blast on out again.
I pass a bunch of ams, start to calm down and get stuck behind Austin Wood. I realize the gentlemanly thing to do is to not pass him (my race is over at this point, essentially) so I just hang back and cruise with him.
Come to find out, that bump on my lower leg, was Marty hanlon jumping it with his bike. He said he got air and everything. I told him no worries, it was my fault for lying on the ground in the first place.
So Saturday night is agony, it didn't hurt badly at first, but it got progressively worse, and real tight overnight.
I decide to just practice, try and stretch it out and take it from there.
After practice I'm feeling about 70%ish. (I tell my wife 87)
Rc6 turd:
As I'm about to go out I see preteen in shorts and tshirt, and I'm bummed.
Also I've been given several stern warnings by the bride at this point, who showed up with Rebecca the ripper, my brother and father in laws.
I'm still hurting, although looser from practice, so I have resolved to go roll around. I do. I'm 2-3s off pace, and ride a lonely race, with hillsgrove in the same spot everytime I see him.
A big thanks to Cliff's Cycles KTM, LDR, and dan for the coaching. I need to start better, and find them pesky teens.
Also, a big congrats to Trevor Arvidson, who went out and won 2 ex races his first weekend, and smoked me, and everybody else at the same time.
Buy bubba Landry's exhaust sliders. Ripper tested and approved.

You're absolutely right chuck. It's difficult to get motoring when you hear all your friends numbers as the "rider down".

imagine what your lap times would be if you didn't have to pick the bike up off the ground. you'd be doing 15s for sure![]()

Welcome to the white plates (says the guy who has been there a whole 2 weekends longer :-p)! I dont know how the hell you can turn 20s on something that was made to ride in the woods, more power to ya!
Teens will come for sure and man you have brass ones for finishing that race. I was watching from the front straight and was perplexed why you were motoring down hot pit. I thought maybe you jumped the start or something :-p
Glad you are alright and see ya in Oct!
