Well, flew in for just this one weekend, and man was it ever hit or miss.
Tuesday hit bike night to see everyone, had Chinese, it was good. Peanut was thankfully unmolested. Tuesday and Wednesday was spent putting the bike back together. It started on kick #4, which was utterly fantastic. Watch weather report for Thursday, see its supposed to rain all day, decide to head up for the afternoon practice. Starts out dry, switches to wet, figure Ill put the rains on and get a few laps in. Good times.
Friday practice: My lines are all off, think Im going alright, keep some people in sight that I wanted to. Check times, high 1:25s, piss poor.
Supersingles: Get a good start, and my times and lines are still all fucked up. Was about mid pack, and just work my way backwards. Cant keep up with anyone. Not good. Best time 1:25.1 (3 seconds off my PB) finish in 10th.
ULSB. Same deal, good start, missed shoving my handguard up Docs ass by about 4 inches (he stalled on the start). End up mid pack, work my way backwards. Cant keep anyone behind me. Had a nice lap with Bob Stone, few passes between us before he leaves me. Still piss poor lines and times. Best lap 1:25.0 finish 12.
Saturday practice. Bit of the same, slow but at least my lines are getting back where I want them to be. Miss 2nd practice due to weather, and didnt get tires changed in time.
Motard: wet/drying track: awesome race, totally made the weekend worth it for me. Get out to a good start, right behind the pack of fast guys. Keep them all in sight. I know Brent Lyskawa is behind me, managed to hold him off for 5 laps. Pass Eric Block somewhere (that never happens) and start working my way up towards Mike Martire, not quite enough time to catch him though. Best lap 1:26.7, finish 6th (also had a better lap time than Mike, very happy about that) I think I'm LRRS's equivalent of Loris Capirossi.
LWSM: keep eye on track/weather. End up having wayyyy more time than I thought, left rains on BIG mistake. End up only one on grid with rains. And of course the track is 100% dry, not a puddle anywhere to run through. Once again, get a great start, bout midpack and just start working my way back. By about lap 6 almost highside myself into the turn 1a viewing stands with Joe Latona right behind me. After than just no confidence in the tires, dont get on the gas until the bike is completely upright. Piss poor decision to leave rains on, bush league mistake. Best time: 1:25.1 finish 10.
Overall pretty crappy weekend racing wise. I know I'm super hard on myself when it comes to racing, and I shouldnt expect much since its my first time on track all year, but still, just not a good performance. Thank GOD for the motard race to make the weekend worth it.
But even without racing it was nice to see everyone at the track, always makes it a good time. Special thanks to DDK and Doc for letting Leeza use the bikes (kept her happy) and extra special thanks to person who will remain nameless for allowing me to see my 2nd set of NESR boobies.
Hopefully it wont be another year before I make it to another race, but it looks that way for now. Def had a good one that will hopefully get me through the year.
It's all good when you're on the track, regardless of your times. Sorry I missed your return.
Wish you could be there for my first race in August. I had asked the Squirrel if it'd be alright if I pitted with the alley and he said sure, but now he's not even going to be there.
It might be Chris and maybe Scottie in there, if they're still both racing by then. It's getting depressing.
Congrats buddy! Great seeing you guys and getting to hang out with you in the ZTA garage.
Hey! I didn't stall! I gave you guys a 12 second head start! (and I still caught ya!)
You missed the burnout in the back of the pickup truck tonight!!
Hope you come back soon, or we are all gonna have to go to Homestead!

It was very nice chatting with you. Thanx for the report. See ya soon!
You shoulda ran on Sunday and brought Leeza. I hate you for not doing both, even though it was a good pose up in the bowl.

It was great seeing you again man. Come back soon damnit!
Man a full dry race on rains isn't any fun! Either way glad to see a Expert RMZ representing. Good stuff man! Get something going so we can race Homestead together in Dec and Feb....![]()
