Showed up at the track Wednesday evening, started out strong during Thursday's open practice, got my crash out of the way at the end of that first session (cold morning, turn 1A, need I say more?)
Friday practice was good, still going strong and beat my PB, which was mid 28's with a 1:28.000.
Ran good all weekend, got a couple of second places, and broke my PB a few more times and got it down to 1:27.697.
After last season were I struggled to turn 1:29's, I am very happy with my performance at the season opener!
Bring on Round 2 so I can dip down in the 26's and beyond!
Update:
A big thank you to Mike Kurtz at MTAG for quickly slapping on fresh rubber between practice sessions after I wore my Pirellis down to the steel cords. Didn't even miss a session!
