Dude, 208k miles on that hemi motor. I'm taking a chance just by filling the gas tank. I'll risk a used rear end that was probably factory set.

What happened to it that makes it not worth fixxing? Gears and bearings are not that expensive and by the time you find a rear end, go get it, spend the time to replace it..it will be quicker to just fix yours. That is assuming you do the work yourself, which I'm sure you can

Huh? I've never had rear end gears that I've been able to 'fix'. When I've blown rear ends, I've always ended up with a pile of metal chunks on the floor when I take the cover off...

"Rebuild" was the term he was looking for.... I rebuilt the rearend in my vette. In the end I would have been better off buying an aftermarket one. It was a bitch to do.
