I'm looking for an old buggy, or something similar, as a point of interest for a large garden I am putting in. Doesn't have to be fancy, in working order, etc. Figured you boys in the north country might have some layin' around!![]()
Waiting for Randy's good old days horse & buggy story .......... Place your bets.![]()
They're all over the place up by me. Some in great shape and proudly displayed, others out in the middle of the woods barely clinging to life. I'll ask around though, I gotta make the rounds this weekend anyway.
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Thanks - I'm looking for something in between those two extremes. It's not going to move once in place so I don't care about that.
Have you considered a FWD sedan with snow tires?
for a garden, an ancient shit spreader

There is one for sale on Portsmouth Ave (Rt 33) in Stratham about 3/4 mi NE of circle.
I did some scanning on FB marketplace….looks like a “nice looking” but likely not functional piece is $1,200-1,500. The ones which are shabby but complete are $250-500.
Here’s a complete one for $350: https://www.facebook.com/share/JHEW3...ibextid=79PoIi
There’s a seller in Cranston, RI that has quite a few which are finished and nice. Search was for “horse wagon”![]()
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
Thanks - the local guy (and by local, I mean half a mile away) has offered $650. Based on what you all are saying this is a fair price since it's been restored and is functional.

What do you do if you're that guy in Cranston, and spent a lifetime curating a carriage collection, and then no one wants them? Some of his stuff is beautiful (too beautiful to sit exposed in my gardens!).
Start a firewood business?

OK
It was such a blah weekend, weather-wise, I didn't really get out much. I'll still keep a watch and see if anything pops up more suited to your needs.

We've decided that the buggy is too large in scale for my project, so my attention has turned to an old plow like the one RandyO linked above. C'mon, someone has to have one laying around up there!![]()
i just got rid of an old sleigh in a family house cleanout...was in rough shape though and smelled like rat piss
