Does anyone really want a Ninja 500?
My friends and I do crazy motorcycle adventures, usually on stupid bikes. This year we're riding to Labrador and we've all decided to do it on Ninja 500s. Knobbies, crash bars, hard bags, camping gear...the whole shebang.
So, who's holding? Cheap and shitty is preferred. I'd take an old race bike if I could be made street legal-ish again.
I had a 2001 as my first bike from 2006-2011ish, put probably 15k miles on it, then sold it to my little brother for his first bike. He hasn’t ridden it in several years, it’s been sitting in my parents’ shed. Despite having a full garage already, I’ve been thinking about stealing it back for a couple hundred bucks.
That got me thinking... and I’ve almost posted a thread here... what could I do with a cheap and shitty 20 year old EX500 with sentimental value?
I think you just answered my question. This is shaping up to be a rather busy year for me, otherwise I’d be asking/begging to tag along. But just out of curiosity, what month are you thinking, lol.
Go all out and do it on a Ninja 250. Sheppo I believe has one for sale
What about a GS500?

Man I wish the Ninja 500 had a US adv version...that would check all my boxes of a street bike, that can do a little bit of off roading. I did 240ish miles on a coastal trip down to SD yesterday and for my 140lb build and +2 rear, it was more than adequate on the freeway slabs. I just get sore on the old hind quarters
