I'm looking for an R6 front wheel, preferably the newer generation/lighter 5 spoke style. I need the older style (03 to 05) smaller OD rotors though... So a newer wheel with matching year rotors doesn't actually add value for this setup.
At this point, even finding one I can borrow just to get some measurements off of would be a win.
I have a set of smaller OD brake rotors I have been trying to get rid of that came on a set of wheels I bought. And I can sell you a new style 5 spoke job. I will just sell the rear that matches on ebay.

Um, yeah, so, that just happened.
Sweet!
I'll hook you up since you helped me with the stereo. $10 for the rotors and $90 for the wheel?

If there was snow on the ground, I'd confirm via PM but haggle here for public entertainment value. But it's racing season, SOLD!
Want me to ship or bring to next weekend?

So... I'm still in the market for rotors. The ones I got are 310mm, which matches the radial caliper machines, and a set of 320mm units that appear to match some year R1s. What I need are 298mm units from an 03/04 R6, pre-radial calipers. Anyone got a set? I've confirmed the spacing is correct, just gotta get the right rotors now.
I have a bunch of 09 and 12 R6 parts if you need anything from newer bikes.
Hey Josh, I might have a set of 298mm from my '03 race bike laying around ... the only problem is figuring out where the hell I put them.![]()

Hah, if you stumble across them, cool!
I appreciate the parts offer from the 09 / 12 machines, but I'm not quite ready to tackle that level of adaptation yet. I'd need to make brake mount brackets to adjust for the larger OD rotors, and on the EFI side I dunno as those racks can be respaced to fit my setup as easily as the old stuff, plus I've no idea if I can convert the electronics properly. I'll have to research some more as it seems the 03/04 stuff is getting harder to find.
Actually... uh... they're hard to find 'cause they're hazardous... that's it! Yeah, I'm qualified to remove and dispose of said materials so should you locate them even if mounted on a bike just clear a path to them but don't touch... I'll be along to remove them, free of charge!![]()
Leaving the safety of my living-room, I set out on my extraordinary archaeological adventure. Journeying deep into the recesses of my attic with little success, I then traveled into the dark depths of my basement. The journey was perilous and fraught with many dangers ... including this creature who was guarding the cave of the holy Yamaha rims:

While it was a tough battle ... I managed to defeated the venomous cave spider and continue my quest.

Traveling a bit further, I came upon a unique discovery, as it is extremely rare to find an inviolate tomb of a 2003 R6. Among the relics in the tomb was a find more precious than any Indiana Jones trinket ... behold:

I think, maybe, we need to talk about this unique and very rare and precious archaeological find....![]()

Hah, well done brave Sir John of Yamaha.
So, where's the rest of the bike, or did tomb raiders get to it first?![]()
The latter, an opportunistic tomb raider got to the bike. The last I heard, the rest of the bike is/was being enjoyed somewhere out in the Ohio valley area. Since the rims are the same for '03-'13, it made sense for me to store the 2nd spare set in the Yama-tomb in case I needed them for my prior '06 and now my current '08. Not wanting to face the Yama-tomb creatures, I never got around to removing the rotors from the rim. In my quest I also found a spare '06-'07 rotor set too (which, I'm sure you are aware, are 310mm but different thickness (4.5mm) from '08 and up (5mm)).

Cool, if my spacer theory works out I'll hit you up for the whole front, then I can have matching rains and drys up front. I've got 06-07 OEM rotors on hand if you need a spare set, and a set of 320mm units if you want to up your game and run spacers under your calipers.![]()
Hah, you hadn't said anything so I assumed the 2nd set wasn't any good to you so you were sweetening the pot. You've got claimers rights to both sets, just say the word and I'll get them back to you. They will not go away without your OK either.
Damn, now I feel like a total bastard.
If I could get the r1 rotors back that'd be sweet thx
I have no use for the r6 ones.
