Looking for a 50cc scooter for pit duty. Cheaper, the better.

Honda sprees are light, compact & hold their value very well. I’m not sure your budget but they can occasionally be found for $5-700 with a dirty carb.

There are a few Chinese Tao Tao scooters for sub $400 on FB with some minimal work needed. Parts are available but will be off some site and 1-2wk shipping.

There are also a good amount of vintage booty mopeds available in that same 5-700 range too.

2014 Aprilia SR50 Ditech like new. Amazingly FAST 50cc with a top speed around 55mph on flat ground. Gets up to 45mph quickly then fades to slow climb to 50-55mph. I've hit 60mph in draft.

My experience with Chinese scooters is don't do it, other than the reputable brands. No idea which brand he is selling. You don't want to spend time fixing a pit bike.

Chinese scooters are fine as long as your expectations are reasonable. The parts are universal and available on Amazon to be at your door the next day. Last time I had to buy one, a "performance" carb was about $14.

I’ve had a handful of Chinese scooters and the only issues I had were self inflicted. They may need a proper jetting than stock and open the air filter but really bullet proof. They just don’t hold their value like Honda’s or Yamahas but definitely do the job.

I commuted for 18 months in all weather on one with nothing but filling the tank and some zip ties after crashing it

Guess I'm odd man out. Mine just fell apart constantly. It was fast, ran pretty good, but everything else broke or didn't work.
Bought it from someone on here for like $300 or something.
