    Long shot. Need bike transported.

Attempted to ride it and of course the throttle totally no longer works. Need a ktm 390 adventure (355lbs) moved from a driveway in Danielson, CT to Brookfield MA. All easy back roads through southbridge, Sturbridge and into Brookfield. It’s about a 50 mile, solid hour trip. Renting a uhaul seems out of my tax bracket. Only other option is borrowing a company vehicle which are video/audio recorded so seems like a bad idea. Otherwise if anyone knows of anyone who works on bikes in this area and would be willing to pick it up and diagnose and repair? Thanks for any suggestions.

Unfortunately I'm currently on another continent but if you're still in a bind after I get back I may be able to pull an assist.

This is by far the best way to go.
But, if for some reason you can't do that and are still in a bind, we're back home & I'm still willing to help you figure something out.

If this was all closer to me, I'd just tell you to come grab my utility trailer. Plenty of room, rear ramp gate, plenty of tie-down hooks, blah-blah-blah...

yup - just make sure your trailer wiring is tight. I've had mixed results where they don't give a shit and let you take it, and other cases where they check that all lighting works before you drive away.

A civic can pull around 1500lbs. Gotta buy and install a hitch though.

Thank you guys for the suggestions. Couldn’t find info on my specific model, but I guess it happens with older 690’s as well, and just need the throttle recalibrated!

Re: Long shot. Need bike transported.

So do you mean the simple DIY recalibration: turn key to on position, slowly crank up to full throttle and then twist back down to closed, shut off & wait a minute?? Or a more involved ECU update / relearn at the dealer??

I did have that issue with my 07 690SM, but it was just jerky throttle & stalling when warm taking off from a stop, the above "recalibration" helped. But it never kept the bike from starting, and it was so simple I'd just do it regularly.

Good luck I would just come tow it for ya, but i'm currently between vehicles with a tow hitch, just sold the van and still need to get a hitch for the new suv.

Re: Long shot. Need bike transported.

The first diy one. Found a video on YouTube about it and figured I’d give it a shot before trying a new battery. This worked out well cause I’m poor as f¥ck. I’m lame and will take it in at its service and have them look it over, sooner if it continues. Hopefully it doesn’t cut out while riding, but seems like an easy fix.
