so ya why not? I know nothing about them, they seem to be a lot of fun thats about it.
No clue whats good whats not. No clue if they need a ton of work.
I feel it is something I have to try and would like to own one.
Dont want to spend more than $2000 on it since I might break it within a year?
I saw some here going for under 3000$ and they were 07s so I assume they might exist for around $2000 just older?
if anyone is selling one or know anyone who is selling one Id really appreciate the info.
Also suggestions on what to look, which ones are good would be appreciated, i know there are some serious motard guys here. I dont want it for racing I want it for the street and personal fun. Stay away from it is the only thing I dont want to hear because I want to try it and now its in my head so I have to do it lol.
Thanks in advance (cough Chip cough)
IMO your chances of finding a complete Motard that also is streetable for $2k are slim to none. The good motard kits are $2,500 just for the wheels, tires, brakes, rotors..etc not including the bike. Just something about.
I know you're a suzuki queen, but if you stumble on a Yamaha WR/YZ dirtbike, I have a complete SM set up for it. If you go this route, I'll even offer to help you put the wheels and brakes on

Appreciate that! Kitt is sellin his YZ I think for 2200$ what would run me to convert that?
I don't know what it would involve to get a plate in your area, so I can't comment on that part of the set up. This is the Supermoto set up I have available, and it's or best offer. It seems you can never find a complete set up, with everything needed to convert. So you may find a great deal on wheels, it's missing the braking system..then you start missmatching stuff together and spend more in the end

Oh ic what you saying! Hey thanks for taking the time to educate me on all that! I guess my roof of $2000 isn't very realistic.. I just wanted to try that it seems a lot of fun. My friend back home had a crf450, that thing was a beast. If I look I YouTube I think I can find a vid in horrible quality but u can tell the bike is ripping.
There's a few on CL for a bit over $3000 I just didn't wanna go there yet since its something I know nothing about.
Supermotojunkie.com classifieds usually have one or two pop up that are streetable.
would the $2000 price would be realistic if it wasnt streetable?
This past fall I sold my Plated/ Registered 2005 CRF450x with motard and dirty rims/tires for $3500 cash.
The day I sold it.
I doubt you can find one for $2000. The rims/brake set up alone can run you $1000 or more.
Then again you might find an old 650r and "motard' it but I still doubt you will be under $2000 for a plated, ready to go motard.

Good look! I just emailed him! Thank you
I think that Craigslist seller is confusing dual sport with supermoto.
I'm not going to tell you not to get one, but I'd hate to see you waste $2k on a junker. If I were you, i'd sink that money into my race program you've been posting about in every single thread.
It doesn't make sense to me that you would just dump money on something you "knew nothing about" either, but I guess that's what makes us different.

I guess you have some valid points chip. It would make sense to put that money towards something that I have actually put a lot of effort and time into. I just feel like its something I have to do. it might fall through and not even happen just an idea though. Your advice though has some serious weight to me. I appreciate it

I see what you did there, micheal. Those were probably the fatest laps that thing ever turned.
That drz is a good deal for a street legal dirty toy. It's the E model, lighter, and hotter cammed than the S. that is, if it's not beat to Christ.

Ohhh. You will NOT find a $2k motard that's ready to race.
Gsxr with race plastics for the win. That's my recommendation. You're used to crashing, er...riding the thing, so giddee up.
