im looking to move onto something completely different and i think a street tard will scratch that itch. ill be looking to sell my SV1kS or maybe trade it for/towards a tard.
before someone tries to sell me on a DRZSM......dont. im not interested. im also not interested in a 450x or the like. i want something that can do a little highway riding and has more power.
i really like the KTM LC4s like a 625/640/690, either in smc or sm form. im also interested the husky 610. i looked at the 510s but i need more range than 70 miles (i realize that the smc's will get about 90), i also like the 6 spd in them.
i like the LC4s and Huskys because they are very reliable, require light maintenance, and what maint they do require (valves, oil etc) i know i can do myself.
ive also pondered a Duke 2 or maybe a Duke. i really like the 690 Duke but i think its more sportbike than dirtbike and then id hate it.
ive found on craigslist:
-0 610s
-1 690SM (im in touch with him, just need to go see bike)
-a couple 690 smc's
-a few 640 smc's
-a couple 625s
everyone apparently thinks they are made of gold or something. $9k for a 5yo dirt bike is insane, especially when KBB disagrees.
so if anyone has a street tard that fits any of the descriptions listed above or knows of one or if anyone is interested in a SV1kS or both, let me know.
ive been over to SMJ and most of those are too far for me to buy.

I've been tossing the idea around, but I might be selling my 2011 SMS630 Husky. I rarely ride it, so it belongs with someone else. PM for details. I wouldn't be interested in a trade however.
Thoughts on an SXV? I'm not selling, but they seem to fit your criteria. Also, isn't Paul E D selling a 690?? If I had the funds for a street bike I would scoop it up in a second.

I'm guessing that you are talking about the Aprillia motards. Though sexy as all hell and fun to ride I'm not so sure it falls into Ox's low maintenance/high reliabiliy criteria. From all things I have heard about the SXV it is a grenade with a very short fuse. Rode one once and it was fun though!
The 08+ are said to be better. Unless your name is chiappisi.

I had a DRZ SM I put a Full yosh on it and a Big FCR Carb on it. and It was Killer. It would keep up with Dollar bills SMC 690 up until @ 56 miles an hour (Drag racing from stoplights) it do well over a 100 on the Highway. I did rides with sportbikes it kept up fine.

the idea of the DRZSM isnt a bad one, but its way down on power and i have about a 15+ mile ride on the highway to work and i just dont think it will cut it. 34hp isnt enough to move me. on craigs list they are a bit less expensive, but the ones that have extensive mods and engine work start to hover near the cost of a 625/640/690 or 610 and im just not sure on the reliablity of a motor that been all strung out to squeeze a few extra ponies out but still be 15-20hp short of a stock KTM

i think ive narrowed it down to the 690SM/SMC. i am talking to a couple guys about some husky 610/630s but im not quite sure its what i want. i like the fact that the KTM has the slipper clutch and the analog tach.
i didnt think it would be so difficult to find a 690.
wanted to buy a 07 690SM, went and looked at it on wed and took it for a quick spin and fell in love with it. told guy i wanted it and he told me that some otherguy contacted him the week before but he couldnt come see it until friday so the seller wanted to wait til that guy came to see it....of course he bought it.

was in negotiations with a dealer in Cali that had an SM. sent him an e mail stating that i needed to call my insurance and my bank to find out what paperwork i needed. got an email back the next day telling me that he sold the bike that morning. WTF!?
