I have a set of motard wheels that I need tires for. These will be used for track days only. The front is a 3.5 in wide so a 120 would be great. The rear is a 4.25 in wide so 150 or 160 I am hearing would work as well. Anybody have some takes they want to sell or give me? I would prefer tires that don't need tire warmers as I don't have any.
Thanks,
Nathan
I've got a set of beat, shagged ass dunlops from my EX. 150 rear, 120 front. They feel fine 29s and up, get loose as shit in the 27s, which is most of the reason I replaced them.
I have had a cold tire crash on them, but I'm pretty sure if I was a better rider it wouldn't have happened. One of those "went in too hot and ran out of talent" deals. They're DOTs, so theoretically you could run them without warmers. I have not been on track w/o warmers since that crash (except last weekend when my warmers shit the bed in practice), and probably never will again, regardless of tire.
edit: they're nowhere near the wear markers, plenty of meat left, but they're old. I assume that's why they feel like shit sub-29?
edit2: My garage mates insist these things are fine, but I don't feel comfortable on them anymore. "If you think your tires are done, they're done, regardless if they really are or not". Hence the replacement.

So are they free?
Thanks,

More or less. I may take a couple blue rockstars off you if you felt so inclined, but yeah, if you have good use for them they're yours. I'm not going to race them anymore so it's not like I'm ending up screwed regardless...
