anyone have one, willing to ship to 90814?
best price is ~$132 shipped on fleabay...already setup an fleabay search to notify me when tanks come up, so no rush...

It's a new tank, just not the color they wanted it to come out. I've got one on my WReck and it's better than OEM in my opinion.
wow...that's a pretty damn good deal for a new tank!
but the bike is a flipper...it might be harder to sell with a yellow tank with blue fairings, so I'm looking for a good 'ol Yamaha blue tank...
can I put YZ400/wr400/426 tanks on it?

seriously, automated ebay searches are the way to go
I setup an automated alert to notify me if any tanks came up....that way I could see how much the "good" deals were being sold for...eventually I noticed that anything priced at $100 or less sells quickly - I got one w' gas cap/petcock for $80 shipped, buy it now, listed today!
don't really care much...just want to change the oil/plug/filter on the bike, throw on a cheap graphics kit, take it on a few rides (and let friends try it), then sell it
ha, who wants an '02 YZ426F for $900 from socal?

While you're scouring for bikes, I want a 2005 or newer YZ250 frame. Rollers or more complete setups for cheap a even better. Ideal would be a complete machine with a motor that's grenaded beyond recognition. Budget - Nada. Not NADA book, Nada as in I got nada in my wallet for this pipe dream.
Whatchya using it for?
I will look around but shipping kills the deal

I'm not agreeing that my smoker is a dud just yet, between the motor work, billet carb and new pipe it runs like a top. Downside is the hubs are shot, front fork axle lug had to be helicoiled and I'm convinced it's not straight given how the rotor wears, frame is obviously helter-skelter...
The advantage is I keep the motor and ancillaries I love and get a chassis that I can get cheap bits for off ebay that aren't 20 years old and beat to absolute piss already.
you don't think an '05+ yz250 motor would be better than the wr265 motor?
I can see where you're going, but that motor's gotta be the tits to justify the swap
and so - you need more than a frame...you also need swingarm/forks/rims?
I'm a little surprised that the frame is so expensive on fleabay right now (cheapest one ~$400?? seriously? I couldn't get fifty bucks for my '98 rm125 frame)...
but I'd say you can likel find a frame...just "follow" an ebay search for (2005,05,2006,06,2007,07,2008,08,2009,09,2010,10,2011,11,2012,12,2013,13,20 14,14) (YZ250,"YZ 250") frame -(YZ250F)
the only issue is you will also need forks and whatnot...so ya...an '05+ yz250 w' a blown motor is your cats meow
edit, ya want this one?
Yz250 01
I'll offer him $250, pull out the motor, separate into (swingarm/rear rim) + (front rim/forks) + (seat/frame) and ship it to ya in 3 boxes, hahaha

A 99+ YZ250 motor (That's when my generation stopped, current generation started) in stock trim is a good motor, fixed many of the flaws my 88 to 98 gen unit had out of the crate. Mine isn't a crate motor though, it's got the wider spread gearbox that is a common hop up for the current gen, plus a bore increase and port work, tweaked squish, dialed in head shape, etc. So as it sits yes I do think it's better than a stock current gen Yam two stroke. I don't want to have to replicate that work over again. (Ok, so I could actually take a 99+ motor MUCH further, but again, don't wanna go through the cost a 2nd time.)
That 01 has possibilities, but I still figure if I'm going through the effort, I'm going to go to current gen, aka 05 or later aluminum frame.
For $250 that could be a good flipper if it's not completely sacked out already.
yeah, that makes sense....just wait it out...I'll see what pops up
but I'm gonna hold off flippin another bike...got 8 more to move, lol
