Interested in opinions on comfortable rain gear that holds up...
I used a Frogg Toggs Road Toad suit recently on my trip and it held up pretty well. My peg feelers are extra long (and now sharp from getting ground down) and they cut a hole down near my ankle, but other than that they have held up pretty well. I rode through 2.5 hours of pretty heavy rain without my leathers even getting damp, as well as some pretty steady mist, so I'm pretty impressed. I picked up a set of gray ones on amazon for like $45. They puff out a bit and kind of make me look like a giant marshmallow, but it's a price I'm willing to pay for staying dry.
I've heard about the Frogg Toggs...thanks for the heads up.
I use a one piece Fieldsheer rain suite during puring rain. It cost $50 and was waterproof. No protection - you put it on top of your regular gear.
Sizing on the Frogg Toggs? Did you take into account wearing them, say, over, a leather jacket? I'm 5'10, 175lbs. I'm guessing large would be correct...
I wear a medium jacket and I got the large Frogg Toggs (I'm 6' 185 pounds) and they fit pretty well.
