We got the midsummer Penguin event coming up on July 26th, and there are about 10 days left for everyone to take advantage of the Pre Registration discount for both the school and for racer practice. We'll be running all three of our classes on this date: Track Experience, Basic (License Certification) and Advanced. We've been doing more and more with our track video tools in the classrooms - come see us and we'll hook you up with one of our Expert Instructors to help you drop those lap times!

Three days and counting to save money on pre-registration.....the break from racing has been good. With plenty of time to recharge the batteries, most of the guys I've talked to are ready to get back to the action!
This guy is ready and will be attending....![]()

I'm in! My second Penguin day. Looking forward to it as long as I can skip the 1.5 hour track walk.
I need as much practice as I can get. Looks like it will be a hot weekend.....
Bah, skipping this round. Money / time saved will go towards making Aug better, including a hotel so my wife will join me.
Haven't decided yet, may day trip Saturday?
Sorry this might be a stupid question, but it always confuses me.
If I am not a "NEW" Novice, do I still ride with the "BASIC & NEW NOVICE" Group?
Thanks.

Its a coin toss. Once I was asked my lap times to decide where I should ride and the next time I was told I had to ride with the beginner group because I was a novice. If the beginner group is holding you up you can ask to bump to the next group and I doubt they will have an issue with it.
So it is not just me, except I was told two different things by different guys at the gate on the same day when I was at the hot pit entrance and have to turn back both times. I don't care which group I am in, I just want to be in the right group.
May be the "BASIC & NEW NOVICE" should just be the "BASIC & NOVICE" group?

Here is the deal with that....some Novices, particularly the more experienced ones, are much faster than the Basic students. They did not like practicing with the Basic guys and the Basic guys didn't like getting their doors blown off either. So, we put all the "experienced" Novices (guys within a few seconds of the bump time) with the other racers and left the option for the "new" Novices who have not got to that pace yet to practice with the Basic Class.
Since we implemented this, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

The garages are open and you are welcome to move in Thurday night - no problem.
Looking forward to a great day tomorrow. See you all in the morning.
