September 1st: We'll be at Thompson, CT on Monday (Labor day) for our final trip to Thompson this season. We had a fantastic day there at the last event, and the guys from New England Powersports are the sponsoring dealers for this event. We are already nearly 80% full for this event, so be sure to get signed up today! CLICK HERE to register.
I'll be there on the 29th!
I'll be there the 29th too! First Penguin day, first time on the Daytona. Very excited.
What time do people start showing up Friday? And garages are fair game correct?
People show up between 6:30 and 7:00. Any empty garage is OK to use (with the exception of tech). Sometimes racers who are in that garage for the weekend will show up during the day, but they know that the school students are good to be in there and they need to share.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Greg. Sorry I didn't get a chance to chat more today. Today was a busy day for me.
Unfortunately I locked myself out of my own car and missed 2 sessions driving home to get my spare key. Thanks to jasnmar for bailing me out here.
Penguin days are always big fun. Scott is a helluva good teacher. I had a great day, as always. And I felt my best out there. Started catching the limiter going into 3. That's a new one for me!
Hey no worries. You seemed a little preoccupied so I didn't want to push it. It was a great day for me too. First one on the Daytona, and first day I started screwing with some suspension settings and starting to understand what does what. It was a smidge frustrating dealing with some of the traffic, but when I got slowed down I eventually found that was a great time to start picking out markers and reference points, so once I adjusted my mindset I started learning more.
A big thanks to Scott and all the other instructors for spending their day teaching the new guys!
A personal first for me was coming over the hill out of turn 4 in 3rd gear and having the front end power off the ground a foot.
Hopefully I get one more day in be it Loudon or Thompson.
