I can't speak from a position of knowing anything - but I would think no as well. There is just too much money available to pack those guys in for those events. If that's all I have to trade to get a new updated track layout - I'll take it and be happy. I wouldn't think that those guys are going to wreck asphalt anyway. They've been camping on the current turns 4-8 for 25 years and that stuff held up pretty well. The issues it has now is from lack of drainage - not the NASCAR guys.

LRRS 878 Clapped out Gixxah
I do remember doing a track day years ago and the NASCAR guys had a cookout in the bowl. There was a nice strip of grease for quit a few feet from their grill. I can't remember where exactly but it did mess with us. That's the only time I know of an issue.

So your argument for splitting up practice 1 is because you got hurt? Jim, I shattered my wrist when my teammate and I collided... You're racin motorcycles, Jim. Shit happens... If you want to stay injury free take up knitting.
I'm not saying whatever incident you were involved in should have happened or couldn't have been avoided, but you're crying about getting hurt while flying around a race track on a motorcycle. C'mon, man. Gimme a break.

Being the first time back on the track yesterday (in the dry), I cannot comment on any paint lines, etc.
I am very thankful for all the new airfence! That was obviously a huge dollar investment for the track.
As much as people talk negative about the walls, I think historical data over the last few years will show a very low injury rate due to collision with a "wall" - even if it was covered.
So while it looks bad as you're walking the track - it doesn't ride bad.
...I think Tony would get a pass on having to take a Basic course - but I'd like to see him back with LRRS as well. Come back and play Tony....F40 is just for you!

Great job with fixing T12! The first time I went through, I was surprised at the depression there, but quickly realized it's purpose to keep that part of the track drained of water. Well, it seems to have worked since I didn't notice any water collecting in T12 this weekend.

I did like the better drainage.. But Fatty about goes airborn off the freestyle ramp now... Lol....
I ain't throwing stones... We all have to race it.. I do love the thought of not braking toward a wall in T3.....![]()

Ok, this shows how nervous I was this weekend, I didn't notice a change in 12...
Oh, I certainly felt it too. I expect many will complain about it, but I wanted to preempt those complaints with some recognition of efforts are being made to improve the track, and that I do appreciate not having to deal with standing water while going through there in the rain.
Besides, it wouldn't be Loudon without bumps to deal with, right?

For the GTL, I was damn near it... Kept having flashbacks to April 2008 while noting I have more than twice the HP now, and carbs that do NOT appreciate partial throttle operation. In the rain it sure looked like the lil bump was still there, I didn't feel like being precise enough to go inside it, so I didn't. That said I'm hoping work and budget allow me to at least do Friday practice before the next round so I can actually spend a little time reverifying and updating markers.
