Blows my mind that they do such a good job promoting this series, riders and venues yet do so bad with the AMA boys. Hope this is the year that changes.

sounds like a handful of options but none free. wonder if the YouTube crowd will still be able to post races now that they are offering a 'pay-per-view' option at $99.99 for the season. yikes.

I feel like JS7 put out a very similar statement last year. WTF is that supposed to mean anyway? either retire or dont.

Carmichael said that some tracks had lap times so short that they had main events 11 minutes long last year, so they wanted more consistency in duration for the fans, event to event. It's been that way in outdoor mx forever (time+2 laps) although the time has shortened over the years.
makes sense. im sure its way easier for TV scheduling as well.
good race. i expected/hoped more from ET3. i knew KR94 was gonna be fast. he def made a statement. if he can stay healthy then he will be tough to beat.

If Roczen wins the championship it'll be the first time in a while that Honda pulls off what they've done many times in the past...Hire the currently fastest guy on the planet to make their dirtbikes look like the best. Seems like over the years they've had many, many championships won by riders who were on a different brand the year before (and in many cases, for their entire careers before).
Nice to see Decotis start the year with a top ten...held off Forkner for quite a while in the process. I'm a fan of Mcelrath, too, after watching him outdoors at Southwick last year.
Yeah it occurred to me that Tomac's explanation for a poor showing at the first round (arm pump) wouldn't likely get a very sympathetic reaction from his old man, since it almost certainly can be blamed on training, or diet, or both, and his old man's obviously a freak about those things.
Fun to watch racing!!

My point was more that Ralph and Jeff latch onto some obscure point and mention it way too much during their broadcast to the point where it gets really annoying hearing it multiple times every week. Maybe it is me but I don't care what Eli's Dad did. His Dad isn't the one racing but they latch on to it and I haven't stopped hearing about it since Eli broke onto the scene years ago. From Saturday's broadcast this year's dead horse to beat will be how Roczen is making a statement and how he said he was gunning for Dungey's title. I guess to a more casual viewer hearing those types of stories is pretty cool but to those who watch every week year after year it can get old.
That being said, agreed that if Eli did have issues with arm pump he should figure out how to train/ride so that he doesn't have issues with it.
Decotis was the most aggressive guy out there. They did a good job showing it too. This is my second season watching, but it seems like he always starts poorly and works his way up from a double digit position after the first lap? If he can get a good holeshot it seems like he could hold on for a podium.
Overall, I thought it was a pretty solid start to the season. Entertaining in almost every heat/qualifier/race.
