Mir or Rins?
Is Rins locked in somewhere yet?

The Red Bull Ring is going to be awesome... The new chicane is going to make this a very close one... Ducati's still rocking it! Weather will also play a big part!
7 Ducati's in the top 10... yikes!

As a spectator, I'm into the sprint races.
I feel bad for the racers. But times are changing I suppose.
I haven't found the racing boring this season, but maybe not as crazy as the few years prior. I would have preferred change to technical rules about aero & holeshot to bring the racing closer again, or a change to the front tire, but I guess it was easier to introduce sprint races than fight Ducati.

Finally got around to reading more about this whole sprint race thing on crash.net................... And yeah... I dunno how I feel about it.I'm torn.
The past few seasons have been IMMENSELY entertaining and I genuinely believe in 5-10 years time we'll look back on the 2018ish to 2022ish era and consider it the "modern golden era"... and that's despite the massive interruption that was COVID. I'm not sure how these sprint races are going to improve or diminish the entertainment factor, but one thing's for sure, the majority of the current crop of riders are CLEARLY having fun out there and that's unquestionably a good thing for the sport. You simply can't argue that the more fun the riders are having the more fun the races are to watch.
I guess only time will tell, eh?![]()

Technical changes should have been the answer, but the sprints could be interesting depending on how they sort out the points scoring.
I wouldn’t say the racing in general is boring either, though some specific races have been. The declining fan base is as much due to the racing as it is to not having superstars in the mix. MotoGP just doesn’t have the personalities anymore, including the “villains” like Biaggi or Lorenzo. We need Rossi’s, Marquez’s, Simoncelli’s, Hayden’s, etc.
Definitely feels lacking in rivalries. Great racing, great riders, and great sportsmanship, but a little dull on the rivalry/drama, I guess.
Save the drama for yo mamma!
If drama is what people want tell em to go watch Real Housewives of the Red Bull Ring, not the Austrian GP.![]()

I've been liking the racing, though I'd like to see a few more manufacturers be in the contention for podiums.
Miller has been on fire lately. Had he been riding like this early in the season, he'd be leading the points right now vs in 4th. Let's hope KTM really does have something up their sleeve mechanically to put them in contention with Miller.
Aleix seems to be struggling since his "Happy Friday!" mistake that cost him a podium. Crashes too. That Aprilia was all over the place on the brakes in Austria. I know he's a late braker, but man, that thing was SIDEWAYS. Maverick was doing well early on but seemed to fade, or the other riders came into the race more.
Martin was his normal "if he could keep it upright, he'd be in contention" form. I can't imagine Ducati would want to sign him vs Miller. That just doesn't make a lot of sense. He's just not consistent. Going to be gamble on who Ducati signs for the other factory seat alongside Bagnaia.

As much as I love Miller, he really isn't a championship threat like Bagnaia and Bastiaini. He could win a championship if everything went right for him and wrong for everyone else (like Hayden and Mir), but I get why they want to replace him with one of the other two. Its bin it or win it for them, but I think over time they'll mature and get consistent.

Two Italians in Factory Red for next year... I wonder what Martin is thinking? Will he sniff around elsewhere???
Not surprised. I'm sure Jorge's disappointed, but you can't say Bastianini isn't deserving.

So it's Bastianini and Bagnaia for Ducati next year?

That….makes sense. Jorge’s performance at Austria was not fitting of a factory ride.

I haven't gotten a SINGLE call yet. Bastards are really letting me hang until the last minute. Ugh.
