Anyone have any advice on a good Boston-area Bank? I've been with Baybank / Bankboston / Fleet / Bank of America for 10 years. Recently I've decided that Bank of America SUCKS ASS and I want out.
Anyone have any suggestions? Why?
Boston --> San Diego
We have TD BankNorth, I have never had a issue with them. Simply Free checking, a good amount of ATM's also there is some Shaw's Walmart's and such that has branches for sunday banking.
If you bounce a check they will waive one charge a quarter... Dont ask how I know this.
Citizens! I hate fleet, or now bank of america, they were always a pain in the ass. Never a problem with Citizens.

Depends where, but I seem to see alot of Citizens stuff popping up. Do they rock the SUM card too?
If you don't travel for buisness and just want an in-locality banking resource you should check into your local credit union, they have some advantages over banks but are traditionally unfriendly to those always on the move, so to speak.
Hated Fleet, had problems with Citzens way back in the day, when they first bought the local bank. Promised I wouldnt go back. Hell when I found out a loan I was getting thru a dealer was going thru Citzens I declined the purhase, went to my local CU and paid .25% more in intrest.
But my parents and Gparents have stuck with and have always liked Citzens
TD Banknorth is what I have. I'm considering also getting a Sovereign account. They seem good. I've never had an issue w/TD Banknorth in the 4 years w/them.
i had nashua Federal Savings and loved them, Fleet bought them and so i found myself having fleet, they fucked with my acount so many times that i almost lost my fucking mind (inaccurate balances ect.).... they suck my balls. so i changed to citizens, they made up charges and fee's that ended up costing me $65 a month to have their version of "free" checking so after fighting with them for 2 months and losing $130 i divorced them ( i say divorced because i was young and had no money and they took literally half) and ended up with bank of NH with "simply Free Checking" ever since i have had no problems and have been as happy as can be for about 3 years and i even converted Keira to bank of NH and opened a joint account with them as well. Since TD Banknorth bought them i have still maintained the same level of satisfaction. granted fleet and citizens may have cleaned up their act in the last 5 or so years i refuse to do business with them and maintain that Bank of NH (now TD Banknorth) is the best bank in the area
Sounds like my choice of Bank of NH (TD Banknorth) was a good one. Makes me feel better when I see others have chose, and agree with my choice.
