    Hi all,

As the title states, I'm just beginning and really just looking to learn as much as I can. Planning to buy a used/new ninja 250 to learn on and then upgrade to something more depending on how I feel. Currently living on the cape.

    Thanks all.

aye, have my eye on the new 250. it looks great in black or blue. if it gets to the dealer soon I'll pick it up before the winter, otherwise its going to be in the spring.

agreed about the class- going this weekend to otis. I took the msf class in so cal when I lived and almost bought a used 750 nighthawk but too much life happened at once and so it had to wait. Thankfully times has changed.

haha I know right, chatham is def that, also damn empty in the winter. Sadly I'm divorced with two kids, so the better bikes will have to wait. I'm happy enough having everything together for a used bike/new 250.

nope not in the air force. father was thou.

One of my favorite shows was Halloween in vegas in 98. good times, good times.

I might be interested in that 2003 Jaynnus, but there is something about the new ones, esp if its only going to be another grand financed or so.

no worries. nope not a fisherman, do go out occasionally. I'm actually an an architect and been working a ton of hours of late, good for the ot but little for anything else.

The good news is that I'm done with the msf and now i'm bike shopping. Still like the 250, either used or a new 07/08 model -really like the 08 model but kinda dont want to wait till december for it.

Anyone have a kawi dealer that they hear good things about/recommend?

    buy uuuuuuuuused

unless ya got the cash to blow... then buy a new zx14

Seriously though, if it were me I'd pick up a used 250 or 500 on the cheap for like 1.5-2 grand, beat on it for a bit, then pick up somethin nicer in the spring. 250's & 500's are freakin bulletproof.

    Just discussing the options

Thats a nice bike but $4300 is a bit much for a first bike. I was thinking I could always keep a new 250 and then get something later down the line.

Oreog - you do have a good point, a nice simple used 250 to bang on, even drop, will hurt less than a new one.

I do like the look of the 08 250 thou, and it feels like it will last me longer or I'll be more apt to keep it than a used bike I know I'll have to turn around later.

knowing Kawi, they probably just changed the bodywork so you could put 08 plastics on an 88 frame and they would fit perfect.

id go with used just for the sake that if you get one for $1500 and ride it for a year or 2 you could sell it for $1499 if you want a new one.

Got me, I still dont see many riding around, esp sport bikes.

So far still looking at bikes, would have made it up to boston if it wasnt for the damn traffic...

Thinking about a used 88 honda hurricane with 30k miles on it. The asking price seems high, but if i can get it for around 1500 i might jump on it. I'm a 6'3 and i feel good on it.

Just replaced one on a 91 CB 750 for a friend.

    Cost like 40 bucks @ Ronayers.com

Thanks, I was wondering if ron ayers was a good place to order from. I'll keep that in mind if I need anything.

Some di-eclectic grease and wd40 worked. It would only stick enough for the headlight to stay off after starting.
