Ok... so really it's not so great.
Just stopped in to say hello to a great group of riders with similar interest to our group. I've really enjoyed reading some of the threads and look forward to looking at some of the ride pictures. It's amazing that two groups half a country apart can have such similar interests.
I am just one of many in our group who like to ride the backroads of Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas. We have others who are track fanatics and some that just really enjoy working on bikes. Most of us ride some kind of sport bike and also have sport tourers. There's a small group of travelers (some at the gap this week) that travel to various rallys as well. You guys look like a great group... you never know when you might find some from our group out your way... if you're ever in St. Louis!!!
Hope some of you will stop by and visit us if you have time.

Wasn't intended to be SPAM... but a genuine invitation. We had some guys go to Niagara Falls last summer and some more of us were planning a trip that way this year and we thought we might get some inside info on some good roads up that way. Didn't mean to offend anyone. Sorry.
Welcome ... I used to ride with some of those ... ahem ...a-holes, for the most part, they are burnt and crusty on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside.
There is always the exception ... <countdown commences>
I go to St. Louis several times a year for training at the Centerpoint building.
Will be there again in Feburary.
If loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to ride would do.
hah, they're just bustin your chops, we're not that really sensitive... What they really meant to say was "welcome to NESR"

There's no need for anyone to apologize... This place is feels very much like ours. When you have something good going you have to take care of it. I won't be posting outside this thread because this place if for NESR and I totally respect that but I didn't just want to lurk around since I know our board admins get a little creeped out by that wondering who it is looking for personal info and some local LEO's looking for where we plan to ride on a given day. When we head out that way, I'll stop back by... in the mean time, enjoy the ride.
Welcome to New England Street Riders
Glad you're out of the closet. You'll find many people just like you here!![]()

Welcome to the site!

Welcome to the short bus.
How did you stumble across NESR?
I stumbled in here one night when google-ing looking for sportbike, tires. I just got a 2007 FZ1 and it's pretty much stock and there are not a lot of riders who push this bike and I was looking for opinions on tires for it. Somehow I came here and just started reading posts on everything and looking at pictures on the rides and such and I didn't want to just lurk. The conversation here is much like our board. So I just wanted to say hi.
I've been to New England a couple of times mostly near the coast sailing (Newport, RI). I spent a couple of Summer vacations on Bear Island, Maine where my Mom's boss had a house when I was little kid. I want to get back but I've never been there in Winter and I don't ski or board.
The roads in Southern Missouri are not all smooth but we have some good ones. The roads in Arkansas have ground glass in the surface for traction. Buy new tires right before you go and right after you get back. The best ride around here is Potosi, Mo -> Hwy P -> DD -> Hwy 32 to Bixby, MO.
Double D -> You tube of DD
Thanks for the welcomes and if your ever around Missouri... Well. I got two bikes right now. Let's ride.
Cool, cool.
Enjoy the FZ1, nice bikeYa get tires for it yet? This day & age, with street tires being so competitive between brands, tire choice is pretty much dependent only on two things... Type of riding you're going to be doing & the thickness of your wallet.

25% off everything in the store tomorrow at our local Cyclegear store. Prolly take some heat for this but the thing came with some old Dunlop Sportmax Qualifiers on it (2007 w/3800 miles, so I guess the tires are original). I'm gonna get another set of these cause I've ridden about 300 miles on them and I kind of like them but it's only been on cold pavement on below 60 degree days. I'll try those and then in mid summer I plan to switch to Pilot Powers. See what the "minister of finance" says and she might even ok both sets tomorrow at 25% off.
