special promo I cam across... just bought $200 worth of food gift certificates for $16 total.
go here:
http://www.restaurant.com/
pick the places you want
apply coupon "Treats"
there ya go - 60 % off to start, then additional 80% off with promo = 92% off
one thing to pay attention to are the contingencies... i.e. days you can use them, minimum purchase requirement, etc.
enjoy! let me know if it helps you guys out

I tried this once, bought a $20 gift certificate for $5. Not a scam, it's a pretty good deal. There are a lot of restrictions on the certificates, so it would be a bit cheesy to actually give these as a gift, unless the recipient really appreciates frugality.

You have to present them to your server before you order. I used to do this alot with my wife, but you do have to get past the 'I feel like a cheap prick' mentality.
pfff, I race... meg knows the rules (or she will when I get home today) - ramen noodles, or 92% off gift certificates!
in reality, it's just a market scheme... the restaurant gives you a small discount on the food, and you end up buying a bottle of wine that is worth as much as the meal... still, I'm thinking it works out to just about buy one get one for meals at decent places. I def. wouldn't recommend using these if you guys are still into impressing girls with dinner venues. I leave the impressing to the bedroom, and not dating anyone new.
yes, it's legit
I've bought many gift certs off this site.
Bummer is they expire and they can't be applied towards booze.
But overall, it's a great deal.
BTW - I'm a cheap prick
I think that there is a diff in git certs and coupons. Gift certs you buy at face value, and ther worth face value..
Beat It Like A Rented Mule !!
Legend in my own mind
GCs that you buy at face value from a retail outlet are good for 7 years under MA law. These night not fall into that catagory.
Me no likey crash
Wow!!! There are some cool resturants there. Azure...mmmmmmmm......
i have used this before, its a good deal to try new and diff places for cheap just read the fine print on some of them

I assume you can only use one per visit?
I.e. if a restaurant only offers $10 certificates, you can't use 5 of them to get a super cheap dinner?

Nice!
Ted's Montana Grill is in there. I'm definitely going to pick one of those up. For those that are close to South Windsor CT Ted's has some great food.
Good looking out Kitt.![]()
