    CAR Insurance Rates

I've been w/ Progressive since 2005, at any given time I've had 1-2 cars, 1-2 bikes, and most recently just last year added homeowners. Each time I've added or updated a vehicle they seemed to have the best rates. Also, have always received great customer service.

I'm receiving every possible discount possible (Paperless, 3 Yr Safe Driving, Continuous Insurance: Diamond, Paid in Full, Multi-Policy, Multi-Car, Homeowner, 5 Yr Accident Free).

On a whim I decided to see if the gecko was full of BS. Turns out he's not... Geico gave me a quote 23% cheaper (apples to apples with the $ amounts coverage wise)!! I was shocked - called Progressive to see if they would match, and they wouldn't do anything. Didn't seem to care about losing a customer. Now I feel like I've been a sucka for the past several years, my own fault for not researching before each renewal.

SO - who are you all using? Have you received quotes recently? I'm convinced I'm going to drop Progressive and need to know who to try out next.

GEICO. Very similar to you, except HO is separate. Had Foremost for the bikes, they acted like it unheard of to drop the bikes for the 6-7 months I can't ride. GEICO's online quotes were higher despite my having the cars with them, I called and the quote was much lower than Foremost. Been there since and I'm happy with the online winter storage option.

    Re: CAR Insurance Rates

I've been looking to switch. I've had Amica since I started driving (first on my parents policy paying for my own car and then solo for the past... man years) - which always kinda sucked because I couldnt get a discount for having MC insurance with them (they shuttled me over to Progressive.) Now that I've become a full time RI resident and bought a new car down here, they are obviously hounding me to switch (I had an understanding in writing with my local rep that I was driving in RI all this time but was a VT resident) but they are looking to bend me over a barrel! 24 Y/O driver, squeaky clean record, multiple cars, etc. I get that there are more, and worse, drivers here, but a 33% increase is insane.

Its hard for me to get an idea of "same" coverage, despite getting new quotes from Amica, because I have stuff like Collision $500/ded but Free Glass replacement, that don't typically show up on quote sites.

Oh well, cars are my hobby. Gotta pay to play.

Have Liberty Mutual now, was a big savings from Safety when we switched three years ago. I just got a Progressive quote for our 2 bikes and the exact same coverage is a $500 savings over LibMu, ($1050 vs $520). I will definitely check out Geico for the bikes as well. The cars are going over to USAA when the current policy is up in May.
