Comcast Or Verizon For Cable/Internet?

who do u guys use, ive have RCN now which i hate ( at my parents house ), and have had comcast with a few issues here and there mainly with the internet, but have not seen to much FIOS around...

what are you guys using?

I've had Comcast for years with only a couple of minor hiccups with their Internet service. Other than price, I have no gripes with their broadband.

Right now I'm disappointed in the quality of their HD channels (too much compression causes visual artifacts in the picture). If FiOS came to my area I would switch right away to get better quality HD broadcasts.

I was surprised to find out that HD service can be effected by bad connections.

I had a low quality jumper that gave me crap and degraded pictures.

Apparently the computer will just "GUESS" at the missing data if the signal is week

ENTIRE CHANNELS appear that were not there before

FIOS if you're serious about internet.

Comcast is getting better in some areas, but if you can get FIOS you won't be disappointed.

Comcast is upping their speeds to match FIOS, but you'll get consistent speed with FIOS.

I only have the choice of Comcast, and I'm itching to get FIOS, but Comcast just upped me to 16Mbps for the same price I was paying for 8Mbps.

Comcast kicks ass... untill you have a problem. their service sucks! you will go months will one tech handing it off to the next. you will be promised credits that never materialize. verizon is comming to my area next week and if comcast doesn't get their shit together i am hopping on that train post haste

Verizon! Fuck Comcast, they suck. They tried to rip me off and weren't afraid to admit it. I got really pissed and they finally backed down, but I witnessed somebody else go through the same thing that I went through, so it wasn't an isolated case. If I had other choices I would ditch Comcast in a second.

i have vz fios internet tv and phone and it hearts my balls.

i would never go back to comcast.

I just started with Verizon and like it so far...in my experience with Comcast the last several years, the service is pretty damn good but they like to try to bend you over for it and not help if there is an issue.

Oh, and I'm not sure if it'll matter to you, but with FIOS you have to use their firewall/router, with comcast you can use whatever you want.

It makes a difference if you're a geek (like me).
