I got a bugatti veyron with over 1000 HP. I saw 270 something before I plowed it into a wall. I wanted to see how fast it would go. I need a bigger track.

Alright so who is playing? I've had the game for a couple days, played a lot over the crappy weekend. I've got to tackle the Super licence tonight, finish the Loeb ralley (can you say pain in the ass???) and then it's time to spend some of the huge cash I have saved up a really start cracking down on the races. Haven't even touched online yet.

The two cars I've bought are the STi hatch and the 09 GT-R. Got a ton I've won. How's everyone else enjoying the game? Favorite parts/features so far? Favorite cars???

I love my 62 Buick special.
As for the loeb rally, pay attention to the default settings. They have the traction control on which sucks in the dirt round, slightly necessary in the snow, and not really necessary on tarmac.
Same thing with the NASCAR stuff, the stability control is on and locked, but you can turn off the abs which essentially makes the SC useless thus providing higher corner speed.

I noticed that early on in the ralley stuff. In the other ralley challenge where you are limited to 246 HP I had to detune my STI a bit and then in order to win the gravel challenge I had to actually lighten the damn thing because I couldn't beat the damn Evo (go figure since I went from an Evo to a Suby).

But I've messed with the TC, abs, etc. It's a pain though because that second challange through the really narrow mountain area I can't get it down. I either go to way to slow to avoid hitting the damn walls, thus starting over, or to fast and hit the walls. There are a bunch of turns that are killing me, trying to get around them with a slight drift to carry speed and keeps RPMs up leads to too much drift and loss of RMPs and a slow pick up or hitting the damn wall!!! I had to stop playing last night because twice I got to within 30 seconds of the finish line with a good run going just to tap a wall and start over.

Okay...phew...rant over. I'll get it, just taking time and practice I guess.

Cola: are you talking about when you're chasing the C4 ghost rally car while driving the same one? You start the course by jumping the RR tracks?

If it is, that's when I discovered the TC. When i turned it off I almost passed the ghost car.

That's the exact one. I have to check my settings because I found out last night sometimes you have to change them between every race or every car. Spent awhile letting the B-spec race so I could clean and unpack at the new place. Felt twice as productive!!!

It's weird because even the snow challenge on that I missed my like 2 tenths and I've done really good on the snow the rest of the game. Try and try again I guess.

Scott, I have the logitech driving force pro. Though I haven't used it much as I don't have a proper place to mount it. I'm going to make/buy a mount for it.

I'm a hopeless addict at the moment. I can't stop blowing money buying and tuning cars. Need a Lambo for a challenge? OK. HAS to be 700HP, lightened to stage 3, slicks on match painted wheels, aero kit. It's bad. If I don't find God will I be stuck in this addiction forever? Or at least until spring?

Oh, there are some great money-makers in "seasonal events" if you haven't checked them out yet. Bunch of them let you claim all of the prize money for the position you finish in AND all of the other, lower positions combined. There's a GT-R challenge on there now that totals out to $1mil. Helps feed the car addiction...

Also, in the Expert A-spec events, there's a quick 3-lap race in the (I think) Turbo series? It's unlimited, so with a tuned car it's a joke... my lap times with an 07 GT-R are *almost* under 1:00.00 and first prize is a lil' over $50K (in 3 minutes).
