And just like that, today marks the earliest I have ever turned the heat on at my house. Pretty damn insane.
40s in the morning make it hard to commute on the rc51
I’m holding strong down here.
Most of the windows are closed and the fans off though.

Hah I've been scrapping ice off my windshield most morning since mid August. Still don't have the heat on though. 60-70 every day 30s at night perfection.
I barely use heat in the winter. Nevermind now.

Smell that? You smell that? … cold air, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. … I love the smell of cold air in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn’t find one of ’em, not one stinkin’ dink body. The smell, you know that cold air smell, the whole hill. Smelled like horsepower. Someday this war’s gonna end…
heat? i threw the fan in the window last night, only because the AC is now apparently too loud for the kid.
I hope we don't need heat any time soon, i need a new furnace and i'm waiting for my buddies side-job schedule to open up.
Was at Twin Lakes in NH over the weekend, we ran the wood stove at night. Still nice and warm down here on the south shore.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief

Was 46 at my house this morning, no need for heat yet. Somehow it was still 70 inside the house this morning.
Best way to save on heat this time of year is to keep the windows closed all day and open whatever blinds you have to let the sun shine in

Best investment I've made is Goretex Pro shell gear with lots of vents (Rev'It Dominator jacket and Poseidon pants). Waterproof, warm when all vents are closed and decently cool when all vents are open. Works awesome from ~45-85 degrees. Anything below that requires under layers or heated gear, anything above, or lots of offroading, really necessitates mesh. Downside is Goretex is expensive, but the cost is worth it the first time you get caught in the rain or in a freak cold front (got cold front, rain and snow on a trip down to NC last year...the Goretex was awesome!) Rode perfectly comfortable this morning without heated grips or seats on.
I have two suits, the above and Rev'It Tornado 2 jacket and pants, which is mesh with thermal liners. There is some overlap between the two sets, but they work awesome for nearly year round riding.
I'm kind of a gear whore.

Best investment I’ve made in cold weather gear is mitts. Total game changer. I can keep everything else warm, but even with winter gloves in the freezing wind my fingers turn to ice. Along with heated grips I got my DR out a ton last winter! Only downside is feeling like my hands are cuffed to the bars.
