    This heat...

    ...I FUGGIN HATE THIS HEAT!!!!

Even the A/C in the car and the house don't perform 100%, it's too hot! Will be over 100 degrees tomorrow with the heat/humidity index. Pool went from 63 to 71 degrees in one day...the husband went to home depot to buy a 18 000 BTU A/C unit to replace the smaller one we have, it installs it in the window after struggling in the heat (the other A/C had been un-installed for this one) only to find out that it requires over 200 volts electric outlets..we don't have that kind of power in the house. Un-install the new unit, put back the old one...back to Home Depot...hopefully he comes back with something that will be a fit for our electric. I got a headache, my youngest has nausea and is very uncomfortable, she got bit by something on the foot, now it looks like a potato, it's very swollen, Doc prescribe antibiotics, go to the pharmacy, closed at 8:00pm, what kind of fuckin pharmacy closes at 8:00PM??? Oh yeah...the kind that is in a small farmers town. All I can do until tomorrow is Benadryl.../end of rant.

Not really. To get comfortable in the winter, you can layer.

There's only so much you can take off before getting arrested. ANd even then you sweat and stink.

Hell no. I would take a -10 over an 95+ any day. Don't get me wrong...I like summer, when it doesn't go beyond 80 degrees and NO humidity. Well, some people tolerate extreme in temperatures better than others. I wish I was one of those people.

Exactly! That's what I always say too! You're cold, put on some comfy flanel pants and sweater, warm socks...all cozy. Sweat your ass off...after you get nakked, what is there to take off? Nada!

Yes really. Being cold sucks, even if you can layer. And there's no better feeling than jumping in a pool on a hot day. Seriously, summer>winter.

Central AC has proven to be the best thing I put in my house, set it at 72 and it's 72 in the house

On a health note, I've been feeling much better the past few days. I'm on iron supliments and it's really given me a boost in energy...though the down side is mushy dark turds that require a bunch of wipes Just thought I'd share...

    Mark you are priceless!!

I don't mind the heat, I just can't stand the bitchy people that call in and whine cause their AC is not working and they need it fixed TODAY. Open a damn window!!

At Home depot the biggest AC they have for 115VAC is the 15,000 BTU model. The 18,000 requires a 15A 220VAC circuit and the 25,000 requires a 20A 220VAC circuit.

I just went through this because I need to replace a 220VAC AC in my house. No interest or payments for 12 months at Home Depot for all purchases over $299 and the 25K model should fit in my window!

    Re: This heat...

Im with getaddicted. I love hot weather. Most people around just complain regardless- its to hot, its to cold. In the winter even with layers Im always cold and feel like crap. I keep my house @ 76 in the cold months. AC is set to 82 right now. I lived in Florida for two years. Loved the weather hated everything else. And yes Im moving from Mass. Talking with a realtor this week. As soon as the house is gone Im off to Texas.

As far as the AC unit goes if you can check out BJ's. I shopped around last year when I bought one and they were by far the cheapest.

AC? 2 of those oscillating fans from Wal-Mart that we've had for 2 years now (well worth the $15/each I paid) and we are fine with that. Keep the windows open just a crack all day with the shades down. And I won't be passing out when I get my next electric bill

Look at the bright side. The tires are like fly paper on the pavement when its like this. Wearing gear does become a pain in the ass though. I'm leaving for New Haven in a few and seriously considered riding in shorts and a t shirt. Then I remembered sweat wipes off. Rash does not.

I don't have central AC.. but I'm sitting on the couch in nothing but a sheet and I'm pretty comfy. I haven't had AC in 3 years. If it gets too hot, I just go swimming or take a cold shower
