Thought some you might enjoy this. I had the the rare opportunity to fly with the Blue Angles. (Makes turn 1 look like a piece of cake.) I have a new found appreciation for what these guys do in demonstration and combat. Sorry for the commercial. Enjoy. -Mike
P.S. Yep! Lost my lunch. Someday I'll post THAT video.

Very cool.
"When there's a gap you either commit yourself as a professional racing driver that is designed to win races or you come second or you come third or come fifth, and I'm not designed to come third, fourth, or fifth. I race to win, and if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you're no longer a racing driver."

We went from 120kts to the speed of sound in less than 30 seconds. The after burners really kick in. It throws your head back against the seat. The plane will do nearly Mach 2 but we couldn't do it for fear of shattering windows all over New Hampshire.
I thought they are not allowed to hit speed of sound anywhere besides training areas or 120 miles from the coast.
Kinda doubt they went that fast over populated area.
We got a celebrity on here...damnI would love to take a ride on one of them birds.
Correct. No Speed of Sound on this trip. Close. The readout said .9Mach and we had to stay above 9,000 for maneuvers.
Awesome! I've always wanted to fly in a modern fighter. I'd probably ralph too, but it's worth it...right!?
Did manage to get a ride in a P-51, which was an absolute blast.
Regardless sick experience! Few people get to live that.
Certainly is a once in a lifetime opportunity.good for you mike.except the ralphing part!
Just love how he snaps back to level flight somewhere in the middle like it's no big deal
Super cool, I'm extremely jealous!

I saw that when it air the first time Mike, kudos!
I'd kill to have such a ride, and I saw your admission as the news desk after the video aired at "dinnertime" that the inevitable did in fact happen. I decided right then that if ever given the opp, I'd have to do it on an empty stomach!
BTW, I'm an olde farte so I can say that your coworker Liz Brunner is a hottie who could have me...if she pays her cards right. You got a mostly great team there, always been my preferred news station. I truly appreciate the Chronicle program. Nothing else like it on the air, never will be! (My father in law has been interviewed on it one time, he's a weather nut too.)
