I hope Connecticut gets wiped off the map. Then I hope a hurricane comes to the northeast. Hurricanes = $$$$$$ for linemen.

    Re: Hurricane season

Had to use my generator last week after the storms roled through, lost power for 8 hours! Ended up drinking more $ in beer this time than the generator used in fuel...if it was the other way around, I would have been pissed once again

CT wiped off the map? Ouch!

I had an 8000 watt continuous that I borrowed for the last storms. We picked up a 7550 continuous of our own a few months ago.

We were out for 6 days from the hurricane and 10 days from the Halloween snowstorm. It's amazing how much your neighbors love you when they hear you have a generator.

    Re: Hurricane season

I bought my generator after my power was out after Hurricane Bob back in '91. best insurance I've had for power outages, only used it once for power outage back in Dec 08 when my power was out 3 days. Power has been out several times in the past 20 years since I've had the generator, but only 3-4 hours hear & there, not long enuf to actually need to use it.

I do start it once a year, run a tank full of fuel, change the oil, add fresh stabilized fuel. I also keep 15 gals of stabilized fuel on hand in 5 gal containers that gets rotated by using in a vehicle and replacing fresh stabilized fuel 5 gal/month. works pretty good, that way I have 2-4 days supply on hand, even with power out, I don't run the gen full time,

    Re: Hurricane season

Now that I live in the epicenter of hurricanes, I'm glad I bought a used generator back when I lived in CT! It helped me during power outages in CT and the wicked Nor'easters in Maine. Best $250 I ever spent! Every household should own a generator!
