I wanna see what the site gives our resident commie pinkos for a rating.
I just retook the test and I answered every question like a card carrying member of ACLU would and after I submitted it it directed me to the Donate to Hillary site.
I gave up after deciding the questions were loaded. Several ask multiple things in one question and I found myself unwilling to pick any of the answers. The military question one struck me in particular; the answers covered both positions on mandatory service AND on how the military should be used to protect the country. Those are two separate issues in my eye.
I would reckon that motorcyclists are naturally skewed towards libertarian ideals... seeing as how we all 'get' and enjoy the feeling of freedom bikes offer, and couldn't care for nanny-state mentalities shared by those constantly reminding us how dangerous our hobby is whereas an uber left person thinks motorbikes are a nuisance / wants to ban motorcycles all together, is actually looking forward to driver-less cars and generally hopes to remove any and all shred of fun from life because fun is 'dangerous'.
Me: "Your political philosophy is: Libertarian - Libertarians believe the Government shall have a limited role, putting freedom before both in economic and social terms."
That's where I expected I would land though. Yeah the test nudged me, but I was heading in that direction anyway. I overlooked the stupid mistakes because I took the test for FUN, not psychological analysis.
Libertarian, slightly left.

Very bottom of the libertarian chart dead center. Found myself answering the "best" answer and not one I agreed with often. The politicians placements made me laugh. .. none are accurate. Why only 3 questions when there are four quadrants? Seems an inefficien survey...
Just my .02.
Everyone Is landing high in libertarian because the totalitarian responses are not expressed. By using three possible answers, everyone is pulled north and only the left/right wing pulls matter. You can't triangulate while using four points of reference.... whoever made this poll intentionally set that up. ..or they suck.

Because every time I tell people I voted for something other than one of the two primary candidates, I get congratulated for "throwing my vote away". And often, questions about voting are phrased as if there are only two choices. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if some people out there who hadn't voted thought the presidential ballot only had two choices.

Nothing is being triangulated here. This is a 2 dimensional evaluation which only checks your degree of belief in personal freedom and economic freedom and then shows where you stack up. There are 10 personal and 10 economic freedom questions. You start at 0% for both categories. Clicking the first answer of the three makes no change to your percentages since it's the definitive "let the government control me" answer. Clicking the 3rd answer of the three adds 10% to the respective percentage since it's the definitive "don't let the government control me" answer. The middle answers lie somewhere in-between.
If you click the first answer for each question, you are a 100% totalitarian:

I got rated as Moderate Libertarian - Libertarian. I guess it makes sense, it's a little difficult to answer some of the questions. It feels like some of them should have more than 3 answers.
I find it interesting that our resident hippies haven't said a word here. Sometimes the silence says lots.
The quiz isn't meaningless; it's just very simplified as an introduction to the idea that there is more to the political map than left vs. right. It's designed as something that is easy enough for a person new to political interest to stop and do, and it gives a general indication. There are better and much more comprehensive quizzes and charts out there, if you're interested.

83 social, 90 economic. The drug thing lost me some points because I don't think oxys should be sold like candy so I do favor some govt control over drugs as I've personally witnessed the damage.

I get that all the time, if you don't affiliate with one of the big 2, then yer an Independent
back in '94 (been 20 years, hard to believe) I ran for State Senate in my district, I won my party primary, Libertarians had full ballot status in NH and a caucus in the legislature, minority party leader, etc.
conservatives didn't like me cause of my position on abortion (not a government issue imho), liberals didn't like me cause of my position of not funding abortions with welfare
I did well, went to 5 debates, the incumbent Republican, at the beginning of the second debate told me I stole the show at the first debate and he was more prepared this time. I had just lucked out that the first groups area of interest was my area of professional expertise, environmental land use permitting, in the end, the Republican incumbent spent the volunteer $20k spending limit and wound up getting 65% of the vote, the Democrat challenger ignored the volunteer spending cap and spent $40k for 20% of the vote, I spent the $15 filing fee and photocopied 25,000 copies on my photocopier that included info on other Libertarian candidates as well and postage to mail came out of someone elses funds. I beat the Democrat in his town (Laconia)
At one time I coulda been talked into a political career, no interest anymore, I had a chance to bend elbows with Ron Paul and Andre Marrou
