My brother and I are taking our father to the Skip Barber school for his 70th B-day. He has been talking about something like this for years so we decided to bite the bullet for this grand day.

The hotels near the Track are big $$$. ( although in my ferrari days I wasn't paying so it didn't much matter.) If you are looking for a bed and quiet nights sleep try the Torrington Super 8. I have stayed there many times and it is only about 25 minutes from the track. Not to mention it will be a lot easier on the wallet after an already expensive 3 days.

That's where I stayed when I went to skip barber, I think. There are a couple places within a pretty short distance of the track (super 89/days inn type of places) that will save you a lot of $$, and still be close enough to the track.

Not really-Here is the info from the track:

"Q: Are there motorcycle races at Lime Rock?
A: No, but tuning and testing days are available for race-licensed riders."

They are changing that this year according to my inside sources. They are supposed to have a hand full of bike only days running the turn 6? chicane (I forget.. the one at the top of the hill.. before west bend)

Yes you are right that is turn six,I have been there many of time, that is one HELL of a corner to sit and watch the car's that do not have to go through the CHICANE. The OLD DAYS when they did not have the Cihcane some of the cars would completley come off the ground,ALL FOUR WHEELS.I would love to see a BIKE race there.
