Hey I know few of you guys here are avid MTB riders.
I have been looking all over trying to find this bike's model and year(s). Its a santa cruz
anyone know?
Im thinking of buying hes asking 500.
try looking here or some other bike review site...its def a freeride or downhill rig...take a look at it cause if its been beat the bushings are going to be garbage and its going to be sloppy in the ass end

said it was a santa cruz Heckler? but not sure of the year, said maybe an 05? but i searched like every year and cant find the bike. And also he said the shock and Bushings in the arm were all new so it rides great. who knows. He works at a bike shop.
Thats a Specialized Big Hit , possibly the comp model. pm me and i can get you full specs or help ya out with any questions. Just be wary, if he's saying it's a santa cruz, and it's clearly a specialized, it may be stolen.

looks older than that judging by the linkage

very interesting. wierd.
bighit it is, def not a heckler lol, let me try and talk to this guy again thanks guys.
If it's a Big Hit and you aren't interested in buying it could you send me the info on it, if it is big enough I might be interested for that price.

I should have added that as long as it's in good shape (expect some scratches, dents and dings for a bike of that style and year), for $500 thats a pretty good price.
if the seller is this clueless. offer less than $300 bcuz he is hiding something. take a hard look at the frame for cracks. and spin the tires to determine how true they are. look at the tire spinning in both directions, inline and profile.. take the seat out of the frame and look down in the tube for wear and water. frankly a new bike runs $1000, so something five years old at half..
yup, look closely at the rear chain stays, those commonly crack on specialized bikes (especially from a few years back).
