I need one. I have been without a drum kit (due to living in a fairly small apt) for about 3 years and it's killing me. I went to Daddy's and jammed on one last night.
I've never wanted one this bad until now. Does anyone here know anything about them? I played a Roland td3 with a mesh snare. It's $1000.
I'd rather buy a used one, since $1000 is more than I care to spend right now.
Is there anything to look for on these? Different brains, pads, or anything like that?
Thanks in advance. If it was an acoustic set I'd be fine. But all this newfangled technology frightens me, but it sure is fun!
I have a set of roland TD-7's that I just plain ran out of time to use anymore. All the pads are like brand new, no tears. The amp still hits pretty hard, and the brain is still like new (no loaded tunes or noises or any of that crap). I got them for x-mas 4 or 5 years ago, if you want pm me and Ill shoot some pics your way. As far as price goes, I have NO idea what they're worth, let me do some research...
Stick with roland. I've been beating the shit out of mine for years and have had zero problems and the stock sounds are pretty good. If you really want to get over you head you should look into using the brains midi outs and some software i could give you. Then you can really get nuts and start makeing your own samples. You can even run the line out to you PA and midi into your PC at the same time to really make some interesting beats.![]()
I'd definetely like to load stuff onto my computer. I'm not sure about the td7, is that just the brain? The td3 I was using was sick! 35 drum kits loaded, mesh snare. Is there anything special to look out for? Different pads or cymbals? Can you get all the pads as mesh ones?
you can get all the pads as mesh but it will cost you a pretty penny. I have the td6s brain and it has 99 programed but fully adjustable kits. Plus a sound bank with even more in it than what is shown with the kits. Also it has a vast supply of beats pre installed to learn new rythems and when you get them the have music tracks to play along with to solidify your new pattern.
I used to be a drum snob. You know "electronic drum are a joke"! I have changed mind on that. They are a great tool and i believe they can only benefit drummers. I have even mixed my acoustic kit with my electronic kit and laptop for some pretty impressive results.
I had the same view. Until I moved into an apartment, and had to sell my acoustic set. I gave electronic drums a chance and have wanted a set ever since! I think I'll be picking up my new set tonight.![]()
