I just bought a house. No closing for a few weeks, but signed the agreement and paid the good faith money. Big bucks. It looks like I will be holding off on the new cbr for the track, at least for a few months... hopefully I can get it before next NHIS season!
Is anyone else suffering/benefiting in this wild economy?
Everyone says "It is a great time to buy" but in all honesty, that is only half true. It is hard as hell to get a mortgage and when you do, most sellers are still in denial thinking that their property is worth what it was 2 years ago (super inflated) and it is impossible to convince them otherwise.
Everyone is pumped to be stoked on house buying. I say, you cant ride a house! But whatever. I guess i should grow up someday.
and yes. I said pumped to be stoked. get mad.![]()

Was the rate on your mortgage reasonable? I heard rumors that the published rates are not even close (way low) of what people are actually getting for rates (way high). Like 2 - 3 percentage points over what you see on bankrate.com. This is with excellent credit and 20% down.
banks are saving themselves by not turning over the lower rates to buyers.
the lower rates are out there u just have to look
I am just buckling down for the worse i have my bike but need gear instead of spending the 2,000 on it now i am going to wait if i am still healthy when spring comes i will spend the money if not i have that 2,000 just incase
thankfully i work in a job that is not affected by the economy

Congrats on the house.
I just bought my house. I closed on it last Friday now I too am broke. I still have to paint, replace the flooring, Replace the Bathroom, replace the kitchen. and replace the drain pipes before I can even think about moving in. Today I'll be painting the ceilings and meeting the plumber.
I bought mine through a short sale. The banks were taking a lot less than they were owed so I got a great deal on it. I got it for 1/3 less than asking price and that was half of what the old owners owed.
You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
Welcome to always being broke![]()

I'm closing on my 1st house on the 31st. 20% down tier 1 credit and the rate is still in the low 6's. Everyone saying this is the best time to buy the market is crap doesn't live in Newburyport ovbiously, haha.
Still super excited for the house and don't mind turning my street bike into a track only bike for next season.
Congrats for the house. Atleast you have a physical property where you can live with the money u borrowed. I took a student loan and have no physical assets to back it...just a piece of paper called a degree which no one seems to care about anymore....
congrats on buying a house!
pics? party??
addd 2 kids in college to that mortgage... then tell me about broke.
Guess it all depends on the time you buy. I had a bankruptcy as the result of divorce from my first wife 10 years ago, (Neither of us could afford the house on our own and were upside-down on it.) so not the best credit (low 700's), and only put 5% down and got a 5.375% fixed 3 years ago.
Yes growing up sucks
As long as it is maintained MC is still 90% you 10% bike so don't worry and have fun

Wow, I thought I was alone..
I too am very poor. And my free time is few and far between. In a few weeks I am getting back into the mode to work on the house again. Once the closign for selling my condo goes through I will have money to almost complete my house and pay off all my credit cards, then I will be flay broke again. Good thing is I will have about $700 free'd up every month from not having the credit card bills!!!
As some may have seen I also put my baby up for sale, but my just say fu*K it and hold onto itfor next season. With the extra $ every month I can probably pay it off within the next year. So things are slowly looking up.
Be strong people things always turn around, keep your head up and have faith. I have had a rough year and a half with lots of stress, but I am surviving. No gray hairs yet either...
Just think all of us that recently scored on a good priced home will be in excellent shape 5 to 10 years from now to sell! It will all be very worth the pain today! Only thing that sucks is when we go to buy another house that market value will also be up.
My plan is to stay where I am and upgrade the house to the max and enjoy it. Next house will be half the size and hopefully half the cost....
