Quincy / Milton / Braintree MA Homeowners?

We're buying a house in Milton and it is heated with oil. Anyone in the area have a provider they can recommend? Or, does anyone heat with propane? Wondering how the cost compares?

    Thanks in advance.

braintree has their own power, cable, and internet provider: BELD.
BELD is only for Braintree residents & is cheaper than the providers for other cities.

that's the only slightly useful info i could provide.

I've used this site to find my supplier: http://www.newenglandoil.com/mass.htm

FYI for other readers, as the URL suggests, they do other NE states as well. Just navigate to their main page at the top of the site linked.

I can recommend Devaney Fuel from their service and delivery for 2 Milton homes (mother, sister.) I've seen them service an oil burner on a weekend and charge standard rates. (I was in the basement at the time.)

My sister works for a petroleum company and has for more than 30 years. They don't do home delivery anymore. She knows her way around full service companies, and she chose them.

Thanks - that seems to be the consensus. We'll probably go with propoane since they have a new program and the tank is free. The price it by usage, and to heat a house of this size it will be about 2/3 the cost of oil. Hopefully at some point National Grid will run gas somewhere close (it's not within 1/2 mile now).

We've used Metro Energy. They're super responsive for service and the like.
