I refinanced my house yesterday - signed myself up for a 20 year fixed at 4.375%, minimal fees... I've been working with the broker on this for about a month, and walked in with my own summary sheet. Good thing - The paperwork had a few errors...
- A few sheets had the wrong address on them...
- The sheet listing the fees didn't add up... There was about a $600 error in the favor of the bank...
I left to run other errands while they figured it out. It turns out their software burped... The scary part is that no one (but me) really seemed too concerned about it...
Take the time - Read the paperwork - Ask questions - Force the issue - It's your house, your money, and it'll be your problem later if it's wrong!

Did you not get a preliminary HUD before the closing? By law they need to provide one. Good thing you checked though. You also have 3 days of rescission before your loan funds so that if you do find errors or change your mind, you can do so (Primary Residence Only). Not so lucky on purchases.
