I've had them consistently since 1990.
The last one is a 2011 93 which is my wife's. It's in great shape and she wants to keep it, but the front engine subframe is rotted out.
I've got a great mechanic who can replace it, but the only source of the part would be used.
Is anyone else keeping these orphans alive?
What's my best shot at finding this part used?
Steve
Have a friend who's big into Saabs, he uses a Saab specialist here in Rhode Island, they have a shit load of Saab parts cars on the lot, maybe worth a shot.

fuckin google listening in on my typing as usual, 20 minutes after I type Saab on here this shows up on my Utube home page
Back when I was young and walked up hill both ways to school, The joke was .. .Tell me another Sob story.. to all that owned one!
I had a 1999 9-3 Viggen manual, loved that car. I’ve been wanting to pick up an 80’s-early 90’s 900, but they’re tough to find in good shape, especially with a manual transmission, and I’m also nervous about finding parts. Also would really love to find a last-gen 9-3 Aero Sportwagon with AWD and a stick, but that’s a real unicorn.
2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE
2022 Husqvarna fe501s
My 90 9000T 5sp was my favorite car of all time and that list includes BMW, Porsche, and MB.
It was a stealthy friggin rocket.
I always have my eye out for a 900 convertible, the generation in the movie Sideways.
Additional nod to the Saab 9-2x, a japanese car (WRX), with a swede badge, birthed by GM.

Your park avenue leads to..
92,93,95, and 96 were all two strokes. As engine lubrication shut off when your foot came off the throttle, they freewheeled.
Later Saab 95 and 96 used a Ford Taurus 1.5L V4 four stroke. They retained the freewheel but there was a lever under the dash to lock it.
Had a 1969 96 Deluxe.

“It's 2 minutes for any capable adult.”
Headed out to Hastings, NY, 350 miles each way, on Tuesday.
This is my first adventure keeping an orphan alive. Back in the early 80’s I kept all my $300 Pontiacs running, but there were plenty of parts at local junkyards and I was willing to pull and pick on my own.
Goldwing Saab out in Hastings is a goldmine run by great folks, I couldn’t be happier with the trip.
Never had a Viggen, wish I had.
No shade for any of the Saab owners in this thread but every time it pops up all I can think of is the joke I heard a long time ago referring to Saabs
Saab is an acronym and it stands for "Something An Asshole Bought"
Having numerous friends, that I consider to not be assholes, who have owned Saabs I'm fairly certain it isn't true but it still makes me laugh
Dad had a 900 turbo that I learned to drive stick on when I was 12. Pretty great car. I can still remember the smell of the leather.
there was a used Sonett on a carlot one day when I was car shopping, I walked right past it,
