Does $800 sound good?
What would you pay?

Oh, yeah, especially in that condition.
I'd pay a vague amount.

I'll give you a clothes line when i see you on it at the track and take it from you like candy from a schoolgirl.

So does that mean it is worth $800?

Doc, why are you asking?
This bike might the only thing on earth worth *less* than the Ascot, so I'm hoping its not a trade?
That bike has only one, very specific use - it is a great first dirt bike for a small person. Its too big to be useful like a pit bike, and too small to be much of a dirt bike.
It is not a trade. On Ebay they are going for over $1000
I think it would make a good pitbike why do you think it is too big? I can teach the wife to ride on it.... Maybe even try to street it (honda has 2005 100s in Japan that are streeted motards)
Might even minimotard it.
I haven't put the money down yet, still looking for input.

800 is a fair price but i would offer 600 and settle on 700. Then add the ton (Meaning 100) that you're gonna spend in gas and beer to go get it.
800 is a little high. It is a honda and it will run forever.

Dual drum brakes, air cooled, no real suspension.
It's a big XR80. I got mine for $100, put another $200 into it. It uses the same everything, just a little bigger.
No, you won't street it. It would cost way too much to get it street legal, and for what? Just to say you did?
Judging from the values of other XR100's, it's not a bad price. That being said, if you are looking for a bike to do what you said, this isn't really it.
Try racing, then think of a pitbike after a season.

So...
1. I want a Dual sport type bike with a low seat height to teach my wife.
2. I would also use it for some easy trail riding and/or putting around the pits. (getting to a corner for corner working, yes a pedal bike is more exercise but bah!) Maybe even put it on the track(not sure of the class).
3. A 50 is too small and doesn't have a clutch (for teaching my wife)
4. It is a Honda and will run forever and there are plenty of upgrades for it.
Suggestions?

The KLX is great but it is too big to teach my wife and not useful as a pit bike.
I was thinking a 4 stroke 125 or 250 (maybe even a DRZ 400 but then we are getting too big again).
TTR125 or XR100 I don't see a big difference.![]()

Put it on the track? Woods ride it? The thing is a toilet to kick around. My brother had one and it was way underpowered for everything. That was when i was 9.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I see ALOT of people putting these on the track. Wera Forum, Supermoto junkies...
Then there is this.

Come on guys keep trying to talk me out of it.

Can you point me to those WERA and supermoto threads and the lots of places you see them on the track?
Buy it, we don't care, it's your money. If you don't want our opinion don't ask. I rode an XR100 all the time when i was 9 and it was underpowered, period.

holy cow, 6.5hp... that thing's a monster.
Doc... it's a mini motard, an overgrown fiddy. if you want an overgrown mini motard, get it... but it's not a bike you'll ride on the street or at loudon, The thing's gotta have a top speed of like 40mph. And it's not a bike you can race mini-moto on either because of it's size. Only thing it's good for is dicking around on.

The only pit bike you need is a bicycle!!! Save the 800 bucks for when you wad the Hawk up in 3!!
See this is why I ask for your opinions. Good enough and a barometer for what I should do.![]()

great, i can show you motarded 50's too doesn't mean you can roadrace them. And it won't fit in any minimotard series because of the size of the rims. KLX110 are minis that are faster and more powerfull than that. They can hang on an indoor cart track. It would take you at least 2 - 3 minutes to complete a lap around loudon on that.

I didn't know if there was some kinda minimotard race in the area... Just a thought.
Really more of a teach the wife thing but the more I thik about it the less it makes sense. If she does like it she has nowhere to go with it (can't street it) If she doesn't like it, I am stuck with a big mini bike. Not really practical on the trails or in the dirt or as a pitbike.
