We have an old (1994, I think) XR100R that starts well and runs well. But it will not idle even after warmup.
It will run at the half-choke setting, albeit with elevated idle speed. Fuel is good, even added some conditioner a while ago.
Is there a maintenance manual on line or should I buy a Chilton or something else?
It looks like there is a screw at the bottom of the carb that might be a drain? Not sure where to start - haven't owned a carbed bike for more than five years. I bought one of those HF ultrasonic tanks so if I have to remove it and clean it, I have a fighting chance.
Any good maintenance websites?

Update, found some carb cleaning videos on youtube.

Its the pilot jet. Take it out and clean it in the US cleaner.
That was easy. Took the carb off and it appears to be a replacement: doesn't look like something 20 years old. Took the jets out and put them in the [Harbor Freight Ultrasonic] cleaner for about five minutes. Put it all back together and it starts first kick and idles nicely.
This is the video I watched: there are many as it turns out. About as easy a maintenance as there is.

Maybe meant an ultrasonic cleaner?
Regardless, XR100's (among many single carb thumpers) are the easiest to clean and tune...I sure do excited when I go to look at one and the previous owner lowers the price since the bike won't idle, and he keeps the choke on halfway to keep it running...

NESR approved ultrasonic tank.

The low speed jet on an XR100 is so small that, more than likely, a piece of safety wire will not go through it. I usually have to clip one strand off of a fine brass or steel brush. The hole in those things is *tiny*.
What did you use for cleaning solvent? Simple green?
Add a lawnmower paper element fuel filter for happiness
pilot jets clog with micromicro grit
