Is the companies (Beta) choice to have their dealers with small overhead, to keep costs down? I only ask because my buddy from Finland just became a Beta dealer over there, and he's working out of his garage. He said over there, they want to keep the dealer costs low at first, to help build the brand.
He currently has a new 2016 Beta 300 and is racing the winter series enduro's on it. I'm sure he will put it to the reliability/durability test, he rides aggressive. It'll be hard to match his 2011 KTM 300 with almost 500 hours on it he says

The more I read or hear about that bike, the more I want one. Someday that'll replace the KTM 200 for me. Someday.
that's awesome! wish him the best of luck!
on the dealer size thing... i think it's just happening this way due to Betas size, they're not very big, obviously, although they've been around for a long time (1948 for moto). seems they want to continue to grow sensibly rather than promise the world and end up on the short end of the stick. they've been gaining steam from around '09 on once they started making their own motors and focusing more dev cycles on the enduro models. the trials side has way more history than that. think those dealers were always pretty small as well though.
anxious to hear how he likes the Beeta compared the Kay'dem. i doubt durability will be an issue, the motors and components seem super stout. 180hr top ends still looking like new upon inspection from racers.
is he keeping the oil injection system in place? the 300 'Race' model may already have it removed, i can't remember.

Who? Had to google it.
Not exactly on my way home from work.
Won't happen for a while for me anyway.

Backing up a bit. I think building one of those log boxes would be cool to have in the yard to plunk around on in my free time..
The older I get the Faster I wuz
Hodges put in a little course a few years back... three large logs and a boxed in zig-zag'd set... kissed the ground a few times, now i puss out. need to practice.

Their videos have a ton of really neat looking obstacles.
I meant to set something up in my yard this summer. Didn't happen.

I want one of these so bad. With 30" inseam and approaching 50y.o., so many things appeal to me about this.
I love my KTM 300XCW but it is a bit tall for me. Although with a Rekluse, tame power band, and FC boinger work; the bike is mint. I hate smashing the shit out of the pipe all the time, but no 2T has fixed that yet.. ya ya, I know just quit hitting shit.
Besides all my gear is orange...so I have effectively talked myself out of it. Carry on.
