Clinton you would have had a blast following that guy on the ktm 400, showed me a lot of lower and upper trails I hadn't seen yet, some easy some very challenging and he was a challenge to keep up with. I think a trials tire is in order
Corey
cool, i'll have to look for him, glad you guys got out for more! i'm always curious how others make a loops there. i think we've ridden pretty much all of it by now but i still get lost trying to patch sections... as you guys know
Chris and i were talking trials tire yesterday too. if we only rode up top, or similar sections, i'd def have one on. don't think i'd like the feel on the lower flowy stuff though.
gotta say, those Motoz at 13F / 10R have been hooking up so awesome. i had tons of grip yesterday. going up 1psi in the front has kept the rock smashes at bay. shit did my bike take some hits though. rotor guards FTMFW

That guy Mike was running a pirelli Trials tire and i had a pretty in depth conversation with him about it. He said its been on his bike for 2 years now and he rides there every weekend pretty much, sometimes 2 days. He goes pretty quick and does a good amount of upper and lower, he said that it has grip just about everywhere and the only places he doesn't like it is when its really wet or really soft. I'm tempted to try and find an 18" rim for my bike just because the woods tire stock is generally easier to obtain in 18"
Corey
nice. thanks. i was reading a thread/article the other day where the riders would cut every other knob or so out of the second row to get more grip in the wet/soft stuff. made it look like a hybrid trials/offroad tire. interesting approach.
i'd have to try one first, different tires on my bike def affect the handling. a big soggy wheel out back would be a huge change... spare rim would be key. shit, you could swap at the truck.

Did a bit of hunting on the internetz for the Weymouth trails I mentioned yesterday. Found nothing. Did remember where I heard of it though. Older guy was walking through my neighborhood when I was loading my bike up last fall and brought it up when he stopped to chat. He was a NEDB guy, I'll do some more digging on their forum and see if I can figure out what it is.
There's a stretch of what I think is an old rail bed that runs past my golf course in Easton I frequently see dirt bikes and quads on, I mentioned it to him and he knows it. Said it's a pretty big stretch that goes between Canton and Foxboro.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
^ did you guys end up trading bikes for good?

FWIW - I attempted to climb the Monson Monster (Hillclimb) yesterday, with a trials tire on my 350. Bad idea - it is all sand! I made it to the 2nd step, but could not get up the last step.
HOLY CRAP I HAVE NO BIKE RACES THIS WEEKEND AND MAY BE ABLE TO RIDE MOTO SATURDAY MORNING!
I'm excited at the smallest of possibilities. Although I'll probably get up early for a few hours of manual power first.
A man of many names...Jay, Gennaro, Gerry, etc.
I take that back, I'm out.
Girlfriend got me a spot on the B2B ride this Saturday. I guess maybe I'll be around Sunday?

I'm planning to ride both days. Sunday at HVD, Saturday I'm open to franklin or HVD, anyone interested?
Corey
So, this Sunday morning riding at Hodges.......what time? Where on the map below do you guys park so I can try to find you? When I went there for the jack Frost ride last year I remember something about not being able to park where we parked for the Jack Frost during the normal riding season.\
Thanks
Joel

i'll be there about 9 - 930... enter off Clara Barton Road on the other side, take your first left (mobile home on corner) and follow down around the bend until you see a line of trucks.
hope to see you there!

Stupid wedding. Wish I was riding. Have fun guys!

you are correct, sir!
you won't go as far as you've drawn but that is exactly right. flip the map to satellite view and you'll see a small paved lot just around the long bend. there is a yellow gate you won't be able to go past either making it very clear where to park. (but there will be trucks, too)
