Anyone else ride today ?

It was drizzling when I left the house but cleared up 1/2 hr later .

I found a few of the local dirt roads turn into more than what I wanted to accomplish today




the traction on the dirts roads was better earlier in the day before it warmed up a bit , at least the ice was solid and had a sand layer on top so you had traction .


on the way home it was more like mud and heavy wet sand on top of ice, it made stearing a bit of a chore.

good to get out on 2 wheels again .

just shy of 100 miles for the day .

I put in a couple of hours on the trails at Hodges today. Some of the snow covered trails were tough, but it was a lot of fun.

I've been wanting to go out there but I'm not studded...how deep is that snow?

Sean, I did not ride today, but I did manage to get out on the KDX on Christams Eve, and Christmas day. There was not too much snow out in the woods, but there was enough that I was glad that I had my spiked tire mounted.

yeh , this time of year I'm just happy to get out for a few hours , the dirt roads around here offer enough challenge with out having to put studs on and trail ride.
The road lazagna ( dirt-ice-sand-ice-wet sand- slush -topped with sand )
is tricky to manouver at times on a 400lb+ bike .

some trails still had a good 5 inches of snow. We did not have studded tires so it was challenging. It was still a blast
