Paul come out to the forest this weekend. Crowhill is just a little too far for me until my truck comes in. When it does I might have a 426 to MX with

Franklin is too far for me. I have to be back by 3pm. Plus, I really want to practice what I learned at Southwick a few weeks ago... if I can remember it all!

I'll be starting early and finished by 2pm. I'm in even if it's solo.

Re: Finally free sat. the 15th

Wow! MX fail for me today. Got oriented toe the changes. Not sure why they added 2 critical doubles to a track know as beginner friendly, but they did. I liked the changes, but it has the beginners really on the edge.

2nd session I'm trying to pick up the pace and feeling awkward after a month off the bike. I'm headed for the fast jump after the sand and I see a slower rider on the ramp. I move right and decide to hold my pace. Well, he lands and moves right to the edge of the track. I'm fucked. I land inches from the guy. I hear him say Oooh Shiiit! as I drop out of the sky next to him. I don't touch him, but land in the soft fluff just off track. The bike stops and I continue, taking the bars heavily in the chest. Wind is out of me and I go over the bars landing heavily on the hardpack track.

I'm beat to hell, but I gather myself up and ride out. I Take ten and get right back out there to keep from tightening up. I feel OK on the bike, so I soldier on.

Seth was there and we decide to do some follow the leader as I'm still off my game. He's pulling me around for a lap or two when I get a little out of shape heding for the downhill double. I decide to try to stay on it since rolling off would mean casing it hard. Only problem is I'm pointed off track again. Same friggen crash! Hit the soft stuff and go over hard. My chain jams in the slave cylinder guard and I can't move the bike. The case is cracked to boot. So I wait for the crash wagon.

While waiting I am next to the new double. I turn to see a bike sitting wheels up in the middle of the track. I'm thinking what the? and I see a kid off to the side splinting his arm. By the time I get my bike out there are 2 ambulances there to transport people.

They now NEED to split up the groups, dammit! (and put me in the retards group!)

man, hope you're feeling OK today! rough day for sure. odd about the chain/case mishap, that's almost exactly what happened to Justin his last time at CH, i think i'll be investing in a beefed up case saver. that little track is getting real technical, huh?

Unadilla rocked yesterday! pics later. that track is fucking gorgeous and H U G E. John Dowd is my new hero, dude was a missile in the 2-stroke invitational.

Re: Finally free sat. the 15th

Feeling good. I have some sore ribs on my right side, an nasty raspberry on my ass, and some bruises on my arms, but I'm functional. Neck brace came into play big on my first crash. No neck or back pain!

I haven't looked at the bike, but I'm seriously considering a 250F right now. I think it would be much easier to ride as a recreational MXer.

I can understand that.......... But I'm not sure I could picture you on anything but a 2 stroke! That would be like taking a piece of your life away.

Yeah, Maybe it's time for a change. The question is, which bike to get? I'm leaning away from KTM for simplicity reasons. The japanese bikes seem to simply work.

no more Pumpkin? ooh, i'm curious to see where this goes, i had a feeling you would move to a 250F soon. 125 2-smokes are a lot of work!

If you want bulletproof, leave it alone reliability, Yamaha YZ250F. Not going to have the reliability of a 450, just because of the operating RPMs, but Yamahas are hands-down the hardest to kill.

One note of caution, however. With as much as you ride, plan on getting a new bike every other season at minimum. The cost/hassle you're going through with your 2-smoker is nothing compared to what happens when a 4-stroke pops. Plan on getting rid of the bike before it gets expensive. And plan on taking a bath on the resale.

Re: Finally free sat. the 15th

ya buying a 250f would freak me out worrying about the motor/maint. But then again I know plenty of people with them that run good. I think I would lean toward a yzf or kxf. Or you could just get a 250 2stroke
