might as well take the pile and test, it's a generous offer. if the springs were actually measured, they prob wouldn't be anywhere near what a mark on them says. it's common to have true rates all over the place, new or used.

The numbers match up with the KTM part numbers. I'll toss them in and see whats what. She was a bit hard on me last time out being sprung for someone who ate 40lbs more burritos than I did.

Shit, I might have to brew up a fresh batch of Hef and get the keezer all ready to dispense if y'all will be driving by on 119, which is 6 minutes from my house.

random fact: my Buell died on 119 right at the start of Willard Brook heading West. what a crap day, although Mother Nature was hot to trot. a keezer dispensing fresh would have cured my ills.

That's about 45 minutes east of me, that's why I didn't hear your cries. I'm 33 minutes to the Pisgah parking lot.

I always figured the EXC's had the same suspension setup as the XC-W's. IE PDS in the back.
If it's the same as my '12 XC-W, then swapping springs is not hard. I have the magic tool I could be convinced to lend as well.

I can't remember the exact details but its a good bit more involved than pulling the caps and swapping em out...pretty sure it involves removal and partial disassembly including draining and remeasuring the fluid...its a drag, man. Then when they are back together, no external preload adjustment.
hmm, interesting. at the very least, every dirt biker should own a fork oil level tool. dead simple... but understand you might not know what level/weight was in there, or what you prefer, and CC makes things more interesting for sure.

Hmm maybe I should get a fork tool and stop throwing all this money to a sgop

Tool would make it easy, especially if you need to remove oil. But something tells me you're cheap enough for the alternatives below. If you have to remove a few mL, dip a paper towel in. And you won't overfill by a lot since you know under is better than over without the specific tool.
Or, use a caliper.

Or, just tape a bit of fuel line to that ruler. Attach other end of fuel line to syringe or MightVac. Boom. Full tool.
That's how I do it. Overfill, then suction out to your desired fill height. Done.

Found out why the countershaft seal was leaking, even though the PO had just replaced it. Sleeve on there had a decent groove on it. Ordering up a sleeve to go with the new seals.
Should be ready to ride this spring. Just gotta get up to Bub's place to swap some boingers! And maybe pick up some dirty pants.
