putting NHBubba on his bike vs. your bike, assuming the same gearing, in absence of an overbore kit/ignition curve alteration, assuming he was familiar with how to accelerate with the maximum potential, and the tires/surface was consistent, which of the following would happen in a 0-60 WOT run?
1.) he'd be slower on your bike
2.) he'd be faster on your bike
3.) he'd run the same speed on your bike
4.) this question is dumb AF - neither bike would make it to 60mph...he would recommend withdrawing roth IRA principle up until 59.5 as to avoid paying income taxes

If you have a chance, how is the bike geared? Just curious. I've been running 14/49, which is how it came to me. About to swap down to 14/51 soon. Some are saying go even lower. Tops out at like 55 ish as is. Which is plenty fast for a twitchy-ass bike like that.
You probably already know this, but I did not; the electrical system on that bike is all AC. Cannot fit a horn to it, need to power that off a battery. Sicass makes a slick kit for that. I presume yours has a light kit?
I have a pile of springs for little guys your size, if you're interested.
Who the hell took the kickstand off? Least intrusive kickstand I've ever seen or heard of.
Seriously. I'm involved in this post somehow and still have no idea wtf you are on about.
No lights yet. All the Tusk kits out there seem to make use with a little rechargeable battery. If I do go the lights/plate route, it'll be next year, so no rush. Already reg'd in NH for off road till 6/30/17, so I'm down to clown in Richmond (near me) or Clough (more of a haul) as soon as I get all my gear put together.
It HAD a kickstand, doesn't anymore. I'll need to get one. I'm lazy like that. Zero fucks given, smut!
Colin, I may take you up on some of the lighter springs. She feels good now, like uber plush good. Even more supple than my GMD'd CR125. So we'll try it out first and see how it goes.
I'll check on gearing and let you know. 1st is tall on the little rip I took it on up and down the driveway last night after rolling off the trailer. Needs fresh gas though. Probably not jetted for the cold.
That Rekluse is crazy. Gunna take some time to get used to it.

13/50 is the standard woods gearing.

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
Mines a weirdo in that it has the taller 1st and lower 6th cogs out of a 150 swapped in. This is apparently the hot ticket to do to woods use 200's. More or less makes the 200 XC-W into an XC but with the PDS linkage. Something like that. I'm torn as I feel I could use a lower 1st, but the stretch from 1-2 feels just right as it is. I hear it is a pretty large jump on stock bikes. I think shifting the whole gearing down with a taller rear sprocket is the ticket. Looking for a little more help going slow without flaming out on those rocky climbs; cover for my half-ass clutch skills and aversion to rekluse clutches. Should move the rear axle even further in shortening the wheelbase and making it even more agile, which I like. My only question is a +2t change in the rear enough? Or should I have gone -1t on the front sprocket?
We'll start with what I bought and go from there.
Here's the kickstand I bought after I folded mine on the ice last year. I like it. The orange anodized finish makes you feel you're sipping delicious koolaids. The aids, their so cool.
I don't have GMD'ed suspension, but I've heard the "supple" thing from a couple of people who have had him do their dirt setups. I think that makes sense as long as it is controllable and doesn't sack out. I have no reference except I can tell you mine was way undersprung for me. Not shocking considering the last guy was like 170lbs. He had 3 sets of springs for tuning, none were heavy enough for me. One loop through the sand whoops on a reasonably sprung machine vs an undersprung one will very clearly demonstrate the difference. One issue I had after the spring swap was controlling the front in rock gardens. It turned into a pogo stick. The guys talked me through playing with clickers to help that. I'm super happy with how mine is suspended right now. With the tires I feel I'm really coming into my own on this thing now. These things are so stupid light that springs seem even more crucial.
I think yer gunna like it.
Oh, jetting. I find mine stupid easy to swap. Although I never touch the pilot; just the main and needle/clip. Most I talk to say they do the same. Just buy the 2 jets & needles you need (1x winter, 1x summer) from jetsrus and be done. Does not need an aftermarket kit, IMO.
Screw around with the adjuster on the powervalve sometime when you're bored. It's nifty.

Supposedly this was sprung for a 190lb'er. That's 20-30lbs more than me, so I may change out eventually. We'll see.
Got an FMF Gold series fatty pipe on it. She dribbles out the front. Might try to fix that eventually.
What ratio do you run for these things? I was warned not to run it rich on oil.
So what year/model is yours again?
XCW? This is just the straight XC....

Alright. Yours is an '09 XC. Mine is a '12 XC-W. Best I can tell both are PDS. Specs I see say the trans ratios are similar. What's the difference? Eff if I know..
Let me know if you entirely fix the dribble. I've given up. Extra black sealant (NESR recommended) around the flange and zip ties on the header/pipe joint. Still, both dribble. My solution is to spray the bike with silicon spray and be ready to wash it off when cleaning up.
It would probably help if I would strop smacking the pipe on the ground.
I mix between 40 and 50:1. No problems, yet. Using nice synth blend oil that everyone keeps telling me is too good. I figure better too good than not good enough. And I hate to brag, but I can afford it.
Purchase - Midwest Mountain Engineering
Buy this. Meaow.
And some gosh darned hand guards!
That seat is weird. That a short guy thing?!
Hmph.. no speedo pickup. Does it have the little KTM 'puter?
No computer.
It if ends up being a hassle to plate, I can always just sell it for something else when the time comes. In the meantime, I'll enjoy it off road only.

It has hand guards, just plastic floppy ones. Not hard loops. I prefer the hard loops.
Upgrades will come in time. This wasn't a planned purchase way ahead of time, I was thinkin more like in a month or so. This fell into my lap for a song, so I jumped, that's all. Need to get elbow guards and a few other dirty bits before anything else. Damn happy I kept my dirt helmet and boots.

Sigh. One of the highlights of that bike is how much fun it is to flap the left trigger. Suit yourself.
Those aren't handguards. If you were me, you'd install real hand guards. Easier than replacing levers all the damned time.
We all love these Leatt knee guards. Highly recommended.
I have a TrailTech I'd send your way at cost. Snagged it off fleabay recently when the DRZ display failed. Wound up repairing the DRZ display and now do not need. Its a DRZ kit, but maybe close enough?
It's got a freshly rebuilt master for the clutch. Lever works fine. I used it out of habit last night.
New grips and some handguards will be first on the list.
